Destination Wedding Help!!

Hello All,

My FI and are are from STL and are planning to have a destination wedding in FL sometime in April of next year. Any suggestions on venue/location/music/flowers? We are on somewhat of a budget, so nothing to extravagant!

Hi There!!  Can you let us know what area of FL you are looking in specifically..like tampa/st. pete/clearwater, sarasota, ft. myers, etc.?  Also, what type of wedding are you looking into, a lot of times once you determine your style it is easier to look at venues.

I'm actually pretty open to areas. I do have family in Tampa however, so that might make things a bit easier. Maybe St. Pete or Naples.. It will be small.. probably 50-80 guests or so and I want something elegant, but not over the top, yet causal.. I've been trying to find places where I can have the ceremony and reception @ the same place (hotels/resorts). The ceremony doesn't have to be on the beach, but near it would be nice!

We just had our wedding at the Bilmar in Treasure Island (right next to St Pete Beach) In June.  We used the beach bar and had a tent on the patio, I thought it turned out really nice - we had 70 guests.  You can see pics here:

We also looked at the following places:  Sirata (St Pete Beach)  Radisson (North Redington Beach) and Davis Island Garden Club (Tampa)

We did a destination wedding at the Sirata in March and they were very easy to work with being out of state.

I'm having a DW in Sarasota and am working with www.floridaweddings.com Check them out because they're pretty reasonable.  I'm getting married 11/11/11 and even this far out they've been really helpful getting things situated!  Happy planning!

Thank you!  We used Erick Runyon - he was awesome - and we had all of our pics 2 days after the wedding!  I can't say enough good things about him.  I have a bunch of pics of the Bilmar, Doubletree, Sirata and Davis Island Garden Club that I took when we went down to look at venues- feel free to PM me and I can email them to you.
