Why do men hate to put up the tree?

We're having lots of people in for the holidays and the wedding and I've been begging FI to put up the Christmas tree.  It's a prelighted artificial tree!  Anyone else having this problem?

My DH only balks at tasks if he thinks I'm only interested in him as a Task Man.  No one wants to be seen as just a laborer getting stuff checked of a long list.

I fought with my FI over a tree for like a month this year. He never gave in. Eventually I ended up decorating some branches I have in a pot as a decoration. Then my dad intervened and gave me a fake pre-lit tree he didn't want. Scrooges...

I had to put up our fake tree too. He did do the lights, but everything else was me. I also want lights on the patio, but they sit on a chair waiting to be hung.

FI did put up the tree, but it was only after I had to crawl in the attic to get all the Christmas stuff down. He procrastinated way too long and I just got fed up with it. After I did that though, he was more than happy to help, I think he thought he was in trouble

HAHAHA i love that look. i will ask FI to do something a hundred thousand times until finally i have to do it myself. then he gets that look of terror like he knows heads are going to roll lol.

I hired someone to put up the outside lights.  I knew that would never happen.

DH allowed me to get a prelight real size tree this year. Then when we realized we weren't going to be at our house for Christmaung 3  we (Read: I) hung 3 ornaments on it after putlling it out of the box. Hey it beats the 4 foot tree he has used the last few years.

I put up our tree, but I LOVE to decorate it! I went out on Black Friday to get it and I put it up the same day... He added ornaments later and was excited about it.
