Marriage License

Where do I start in getting one of these?  How long do they take?  We're getting married in West Chester.   Thanks!

You need to get the license in the county in which you both reside currently.Just search "(county in which you live) marriage license". It'll get you to the site you need.

If you are getting your license in Butler Co., read my other posts about what to expect. First of all, you both need to visit the court (in Hamilton) together, bring $40 cash and your driver's licenses. (I think that is all you need). You have to be there before 4pm. You will get a license that will expire in 60 days, so don't go too early before your wedding date. You cannot get a hold of anyone directly if you call...only voicemail, and it takes multiple phone calls before they call you back!! Argh (I am currently annoyed with them) :) Good luck!!

Agree w/ pp about if you're getting married out of state.  We are getting married in Indiana and have to get our marriage license in the county in IN that we are getting married in.  I confirmed it w/ our officiant and she said that if we got one for Hamilton County (that's where we live) it won't do us any good and will be a waste of money.  GL!
