ROME for Honeymoon?

I forget who said they are going to Rome, but I had a MAJOR word of advice for you!! GET GOOOOOD WALKING SHOES!! We went to the Walking Store in the Kenwood Mall, and shelled out some big bucks for walking sandals for me and shoes for my husband...it was one of the best investments I have ever made! Your feet will hurt soooo bad after all that walking, you will want shoes that were made for it! I bought two different pairs (one brown and one black/silver) that had different straps just in case one of them started to ache my feet I would wear the others... I bought the MEPHISTO style Helen and the brand NAOT style Marissa. My husband bought brand PIKOLINOS style D-Cuero. Both of us wear these all the time still...very goooood investment!!

Hey thanks. My friend who went this summer also suggested cheaper walking shoes since Italy is dirty and you will just want to pitch them. Did you also notice this or find this to be the case?

I did not feel like Italy was dirty at all...Florence was the least clean, but I thought Venice and Rome were very nice.  You just walk so much that you need really good support. I still wear my shoes that we wore all over Italy. They still look very nice!

We went there for our honeymoon too and definitely did tons and tons of walking. But it was great b/c it worked off all of the food and drinks =)
