Dressmaker recs

Hi Ladies,I think I've found the dress for me--except is has to be made., it's way too adavanced for me. http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V2929.htm?tab=list/evening_bridal_includes_designer&page=allMy mom and sister still want to do the whole dress shopping thing, and I'll go because I think it'll be fun. I don't have a big dress budget and a lot of the dresses I've been drooling over (hello, Jenny Peckham) are way expensive. My mom got a few quotes from people she knows who said 400-500, material and all.I'd love to get some Cincy recs! Got any good ones?

You might want to just consider going out to a few bridal salons and looking at dresses.  You would be surprised how your taste may change a little after you look at some different ones.  Also, places like Bridal and Formal have a ton of dresses and they aren't all expensive.  They are pretty quick to negotiate with brides and generally offer about 20% off every time.  I got that amount off my dress and it made it even easier to pay for it.  If not, I know that gianfavl had her dress made by a lady named Cindy Malinoff and was very happy with her work.  GL!

No dressmaker recs, but just wanted to say if you are trying to stick to a lower budget, try looking at bridesmaids dresses.  You'd be amazed at how detailed some of them are, and you can even find Vera Wang bm dresses around $250.  Here's an example of a bm dress that is similar to the pattern you posted:http://www.bestbridalprices.com/bari-jay-white-wedding-dresses-style-2002-p-45952.html?zenid=0931f9b795e112f5032a9a80d5779a80

I would check out Madison Avenue Bridal. I just went there with a huge dress disaster tonight (wedding is 3 wks away and I need a new dress). Ani, the owner, and designer was extremely helpful!!! She designs at least a portion of her dresses (maybe all of them, not sure). I found several that I loved and I'm not easy to please. Prices are very reasonable (about 200 to 1000). Definitely worth visiting!
