Aisle Runners

I have a question about aisle runners....I wasn't planning on using one but my mom thinks I should since the ceremony is outside and it would help protect my dress from getting dirty from the grass....ceremony is on a golf course. However, I am worried that the aisle runner would be difficult to walk on over grass, that I may end up tripping over it. Any ideas or thoughts on this?

I agree with you and wouldn't do an aisle runner on the grass because you might trip on it. I'd take a little dirt on the bottom of the gown (no one will even notice) over tripping.

I have  similar situation with walking in the sand.  My florist is providing a carpet aisle runner for support, and I ordered a custom runner to go over it w/ our monogram so that it will look nice

I say go without! We had a runner for our beach wedding and in the end doesn't really keep your dress since you go everywhere to take pics:) Besides the lady I bought my dress from told me if your dress is dirty simply turn it inside out spray the bottom with the stain remover and wash on delicate with Woolite- I was very nervous to do this but didn't want to pay an arm and leg to get it cleaned and It works!! My dress was so dirty on the bottom and now its great you can barely even tell -
Good Luck & in the end do what you want and no one else!!

My friend got married on a golf course and had an aisle runner and it was a disaster. The ground was a little damp, and the girls heels kept sinking through the runner and into the grass, which made it get really bunched up.  By the time she came down the aisle the runner was all over the place and her heels kept getting caught in it, she nearly tripped a few times.

I would say go with out.

Thanks for all the advice! My mom and I talked it over with the site coordinator and we have decided to forget about the aisle runner. The coordinator said he has seen too many disasters with it, especially in the grass! I'm thinking of lining the aisle with potted flowers, perhaps calla lillies. And also possibly using rose petals. Thanks again for all the advice! You all are great!
