The Postcard Inn?

Hi!  I'm planning a destination wedding and was wondering if anyone here has/is planning a wedding at the Postcard Inn.  Pros/cons?  Thanks!

Hi!

I'm planning my wedding there now for May 5, 2012. We are also having a destination wedding and there will be about 108 guests. We have the garden areas, which accomodate up to 200 people, but there is a $10,000 food and beverage minimum on Saturdays for that space. (this is a lot cheaper than many other hotels on the beach)

They do have a ballroom upstairs in the same building in the lobby with a terrace/balcony overlooking the garden area, it is very nice with neutral carpeting and includes the use of their chivari chairs at no additional costs.

So far planning has been great there, everyone is super helpful, and unlike a lot of venues we considered there are not very many rules. The staff goes out of their way to make your day how you want it, which is great.

Food: the food is amazing! my fiance and I were blown away at our tasting, it was seriously delicious, if it is half as good on the day of the wedding, we will be thrilled.

Hotel rate: they offer your guests an awesome hotel rate of just $115/night for us, which our guests have really taken advantage of, most are coming down between one and two extra nights.

Cons: the food and beverage minimum, we just used this as our budgeted amount and it is definitely working out, but if you only have 30 people, could be an issue (not sure if they have that on Thursdays though).

privacy: as the Eisel2be stated, privacy is a concern, I fell in love with the space, especially the trees and the lanterns and the lights and didn't worry about privacy until later - however, with Cinco de Mayo that same day, I am somewhat concerned about privacy, but then again, I know my wedding guests are taking up a big chunk of the hotel that weekend, and there is another wedding in the ballroom, so I'm hoping it works out!
