Place Card Question

Ok so...I'm doing the list for my place cards and I realized that I don't know whether I'm supposed to put dates on one card or give them separate cards? For instance, say my friend John Smith is bringing his date Jen Jones. Do they each get their name on a separate card or do I put "Mr. John Smith & Ms. Jen Jones" ?

I think you can do either way. I don't think I've ever seen it done where 2 people are on a card...but I have been wondering this same thing.

Oh good, glad I asked! Ok so just to double check- married couples get one place card, right? Like "Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Smith"?

It depends.Are you talking about place cards or table cards?Table cards tell guests what table to sit out.  Place cards tell guests which seat at that table to sit at.Couple (or families) can all go on the same table card, but place cards can only have one name - unless you're planning on your guests sitting on each others' laps.

I gave every person their own place card including kids. If they were getting a meal they got a place card. I have never seen place cards with more than 1 name on it. Just a thought

I"ve seen this done both ways.  With the double names on the card, I've seen it listed as: Mr. John Smith Ms. Jen Jones Both names separate, but listed above one another.  No one seemed to be bothered by this, or even notice really.
