FL-Gulf Coast Sunset wedding venues?

My fiance and I want a sunset beach wedding, and though we live in Jacksonville, FL, his family lives in Michigan, so we want to do a destination wedding since most people have to travel anyway.  We are going to look at venues on the Gulf, and are headed to St. Pete Beach this weekend to look at three venues (Grand Plaza, Trade Winds Resort, and Sirata).  I am wondering: does anyone know anything about these three?  Are there any recommendations people can make that are beautiful but cost-effective anywhere else near St. Pete or anywhere else on the Gulf Coast?

Thanks!
Aubrey

Those 3 venues are super popular, I know some ladies here will be able to help! I stayed at the Grand Plaza for a weekend while it was nice it was certainly dated. We actually watched a wedding from our balcony! I loved the nightlife nearby, it was a fun spot. I persoanlly got married on Sand Key Beach (near Clearwater) and it was super affordable (just had to pay for the permit). PM me if you want any details if you're interested!

We looked at them all. For the beachy wedding, they all have their plusses. We went with the Tradewinds for the atmosphere and the price. You cannot go wrong there, and if they don't do it for you, there are 3 or 4 other awesome places on Gulf Blvd nearby.

I would also look at Clearwater Sailing center, Tampa Bay Watch, and Mirror Lake Lyceum

I second the Tampa Bay Watch. I've been to two weddings there. And it is an amazing place. Although. I am not having my wedding there. Were having ours at the st. pete womens club. Which is also on the water.

The Rusty Pelican is on the water, but there's no beach.  I think it's less expensive than the ones on the gulf.

I would suggest the Rusty Pelican also, or the Hilton Clearwater. Both are great locations.

You might want to check out the St. Pete Beach Community Center.  It is on the intercoastal side of the water and is very affordable.  Good luck with your search!
