Bustier or Strapless Bra?

Is it necessary to wear a bustier under the wedding dress or does it matter I was thinking just strapless bra will do. Silly question I know lol. Are people just wearing to keep everything in because ive got nothing to keep in.

thanks everyone

A bustier also smooths out the waist and feels a bit more secure (IMO). Nothing worse than tugging at a bra all night. I would also inquire about adding cups to the dress and nixing the bra altogether if you're a bit lighter up top.

But really, it depends on the dress. I'm very well endowed and bought a custom bustier. Then my dress arrived and (go figure) the boning holds me in a much more natural shape. Sooooo... for the first time ever I can go sans bra. LOL.

It depends on your dress. Like your PP if the dress has boning in it a bra suffices.

I am also going without a bra.  I hate strapless bras, so I was so excited to realize that my dress has enough boning.  It actually give me more shape in the bust!!!  I think I just might wear a pair of high waisted spanx to smooth out my tummy area.  They might not be the best for going to the bathroom, but I love the way they suck me in Smile

I want to be comfortable and am just having cups sewn into the top. My dress has a light boning in it already.

Thanks ladies well I got both to put on for my fitting so I can see which ones will feel better. Im bigger up top but tiny every where else thats why I figured just the strapless will do.I was afriad the bustier might be hard to dance in.

    thanks again

I would definitely see how the dress fits.  Mine has a good deal of boning in it, and is a corset back.  I bought a bustier and it ended up making my boobs look even bigger than they are (36DDD).  I'm on the small to average side other than my boobs so I'm not worried about anything else.  I ended up deciding to go completely braless.  My dress looks amazing without it and I'm sooo much more comfortable!

Neither... My alterations lady said she'd fix it so that I didn't need anything (and she did).  She added small cups just to make it smoothe out better, but everything fits great and I don't need anything under.  That worked out well for me, but I think you have to go with whatever you are most comfortable with!

I had cups sewn in my dress.
it was the best decision I made!
It was 90 on my wedding day.

Im not wearing a bra either. But I've been thinking about having cups sewn it. LIke Redklein, it is going to be hot and I don't need another layer under my 10lb dress...lol

Braless here, my dress wouldn't fit with a bra on and the bra made my chest look too big anyway Laughing I did have cups sewn in but ended up removing them because I gain 10 lbs the week before the wedding and needed the extra room lol
