Question - ceremony music at the church

Hi ladies! Question for those of you who have gotten married or will be getting married in a church...did any of you use recorded music that you brought in rather than just live music? We have a friend who is a pianist and singer who will be doing a few things for us but for the bridesmaids processional and the recessional songs, I have two recorded songs that I'd really like to be played instead. Is that tacky or is that normal? Most of the weddings I've been to have just had live organ music but I have a few unique songs that I want played other than the traditional music they normally play in chuch (our church is also pretty lenient when it comes to music. Plus these are songs that are appropriate for church anyway Smile ). Thanks!

Thats a really good question...unfortunately I cannot help, we are having the organist play the whole mass.  I think it probably depends on the church though.  I have found my church to be very willing to do whatever.....including some secular songs during the mass.  But then I have heard of other churches with a much stricter policy.  Does your church have a wedding coordinator?  I would ask her/him.

We are have an organist, who will definitely play before the ceremony and for the processional.  We are considering using some non-traditional recorded music that is meaningful to us for the recessional, but haven't determined if we can edit the music in a way that we like.  If we can't edit the music, we'll use the organist for the whole thing.
