Not From a Box: A-
I was really pleased with Not From a Box originally and would have given them an A+ but I was shorted some of my inner envelopes and had to have them mail me more. They did this promptly and I was pleased. Then much closer to my wedding when I was sending out some last minute invites I realized I was shorted a few outer envelopes and emailed them to ask for additional envelopes and never got a response. Overall I was very pleased with the quality of my invitations though.
Jimmyguana’s at Holiday Inn Harbourside (rehearsal dinner): A+
Ken at Jimmyguana’s was very accommodating for my RD. He let me create my own menu and even made up cute menus for the table at no charge. He also allowed me to bring in my own cake because it was my Dad’s birthday. His staff cut and served the cake at no charge. We had our own private area on the deck overlooking the marina and there was live music for our guests to enjoy. Our guests were mostly staying at this hotel because our reception was there so it was perfect. I highly recommend this for a casual rehearsal dinner.
Holiday Inn Harbouside (reception): A+
We were thrilled with the Key West Center where we held our reception. Elizabeth was a pleasure to work with and was very supportive during the whole process. My husband lost his sister 6 weeks before the wedding and Elizabeth was supportive and understanding of our situation. She was even accommodating in our contract about the possibility of needing to change the date due to my sister-in-law’s illness at the time.
The food was great, the drinks were awesome and the room looked wonderful. I got so many compliments on our choice!
Unique Event and Design (DOC): A++
Staci with Unique Event and Design was fantastic. She was my peace of mind throughout the whole process. She did so much more then help me on the day of. I wasn’t nervous about anything going into the day because I knew she’d have it covered. She even surprised us with gold chargers on the day of because she had them already and they went with our décor. She has a vision and has so much energy. I HIGHLY recommend her!!!
A Medley of Memories Photography: A++
I haven’t seen the pictures yet but Stephanie Medley was the best possible person I could imagine to spend the whole day with me on my wedding day! She was so helpful on so many levels. She helped tie bows, consulted with the makeup artist, helped us move furniture to get better shots, etc. She and her assistant were taking pictures the whole day but she did not seem intrusive at all. Our bridal party commented after the wedding how she was the best photographer they had worked with compared to other weddings they had been in. I truly loved working with her and would recommend her to anyone. I will post pictures when I get them.
Chef Nelson: A
Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what I had wanted and I was so pleased. Our groom’s cake however was a Gator cake and was orange and green rather than orange and blue. I honestly didn’t even notice it on the day of because I was so excited and didn’t look at it too closely but my DOC pointed it out afterwards and I looked at pictures and she was right. I have not contacted Chef Nelson yet to let him know of this mistake but figured I should add it into his review. Otherwise, he was wonderful to work with and I was very pleased with the cake and the price.
Frank Lebano (DJ): C
I hate to give a bad review but Frank really did not meet my expectations. He did an okay job but I don’t think he did a good job facilitating the dancing. There was a lull in the dancing after dinner and my MOH tried to request some fun 80’s songs rather than the 70’s stuff he was playing and she was told that he was catering to the older crowd and to “be patient”. He also tried to move up the cake cutting by an hour because “nobody was dancing”. My DOC informed him that he was not to move it up because that’s not what I wanted and he still tried to do this. Luckily Staci went to the kitchen and told them that the cake cutting was not to be moved up. Staci also tried to get him to do some fun games/dancing which I had previously told her I was okay with and he told her that he wouldn’t do it because he had not spoken to me about it. In the end, all was fine because once I went over there and requested Bon Jovi everyone got up dancing and the dance floor was packed for the rest of the night. I was just not pleased with his effort and the fact that he did not listen to my MOH and DOC. He could have been much more interactive with the guests and tried to get people moving so I was not impressed.
Fish Hawk Florist: A+
Stephanie with Fish Hawk was great! I met with her once and then had a phone meeting with her closer to the wedding. The flowers were beautiful and reasonably priced. They were delivered to my house on time and Stephanie even worked with my DOC to arrange a pick up of my cake topper and rose petals for the reception hall. My DOC picked them up from her that morning so I wouldn’t have to pay for delivery twice. She was also very helpful through email as I changed my order a few times. I highly recommend her!
Crown Royal Limos - A+
Tony gave me a great deal and our Excursion stretch limo was awesome. We probably drove our driver crazy with our singing in the backseat but it was a blast. They were on time and the driver was very friendly. He even went to get us more ice during the ceremony so we'd have it for the drive to the reception.
Custom Linens: A
I never met Chris and Abby but they were great to communicate with through email. The linens were what I asked for and were delivered on time and picked up on time so I have no complaints. The price was fairly good too I believe.
