STILL looking for a dress

So... as the title says, I am still in dress limbo...and the clock is ticking.  Personally, I don't think that 6 months and change is THAT much of a rush, but apparantly every bridal salon does.  Eh... what do they know?  Lol.
Anyway, I have found a bunch of dresses that are absolutely gorgeous, flattering, beautiful, all that stuff.  And I like them... I really really like them... but I am not sure if I LOVE them.  Actually, I am not even sure if I am capable of LOVING a dress... you know like the mushy, "This gives me butterflies" type of love that I have with Kev... in a dress?  I am just not convinced that it is possible, much less necessary.  Maybe I am just weird, but I keep waiting for this crazy magical mushy butterly-y feeling when I put on a dress... and I haven't found it yet... so I haven't bought my dress yet... so I am going to wear jammies on my wedding day.  Lol

SO... my poll today (for those of you that have already found "THE dress")... how did you feel when you first put it on?
Did you burst into a flood of happy tears?  (GAG)
Did you get butterflies?
Did the sunshine burst through the clouds and light up the room and birds start singing in tune?
Did all of your bridesmaids hyperventilate and pass out?

WHAT is supposed to happen when you find "THE dress" and did it REALLY happen to you?

I can't wait to hear your answers...

Haha ok so, I felt the same way when I was looking for a dress. I had 3 dresses that I thought looked amazing on me, 1 made me feel like a princess and I loved it...but none of them made me cry (I laughed when FI proposed, so the crying thing is a stretch).

However, I had a wonderful sales lady who would zip me up, walk me out, and as soon as I turned around asked me what I thought of the dress. I had no idea she had a reason for the immediate question, and at the time I was kinda like 'ugh shut up and give me a chance to look at myself!' But when I was stuck between 3 dresses, she repeated my initial recation. 2 of them being "oh this is pretty" and the 3rd being "wow I love this dress! I look f'n hot!" And thats the dress I ended up with. Thats how I made my decision.

My butterflies came afterward. Once it was ordered and in and I tried it on. It was a "Im going to say I do in this dress" kind of butterfly feeling.

I tried on a total of 4 dresses, I told my consultant what I was looking for and she pulled some dresses. The first one was "meh ok", the second was a little better, the 3rd I refused to show anyone lol and the 4th one I was like "this is the one!!" I didn't cry and neither did my mom or sister but than again we aren't the mushy type haha I did'nt get that overwhelming "I'm a BRIDE" feeling either, I just really loved the look and feel of the dress and didn't want to try on anything else, so that's how I "knew"

Really???  2 people cried and one of you said the room lit up?  Are you guys joking with me or does that really happen?
I am having a tough time believing this... Tell us your stories...

I cried. I just felt really beautiful. I looked at myself in the mirror and really loved what I saw. Then I turned to my mom and grandmother and they both had tears in their eyes and it just pushed me over the edge. I am a big sap though and cried a lot during the wedding planning process. Surprisingly, I didn't cry walking down the aisle though, I cracked up!

I had the most amazing experience at Cymbeline. I wrote about it in detail at www.foreverisntfree.blogspot.com.

Long story short, exquisite dresses for around $2000. Go there in person to try them on, it's not the same as the website.
