I need motivation!

The holidays are over and it's time for me to get serious about getting in shape! You'd think a wedding alone would be enough motivation but my weight loss has been soooo slow-going. I've got 4 months to go and a good 30-40 lbs to take off. How are you all getting in shape for your big day??

  • FI and I started the 21-day Clean program cleanse today - not only to shed excess holiday weight for the wedding, but also for our overall health. It's certainly a commitment, but one of my co-workers completed it relatively recently and looks and feels better than she ever has.

I plan on blogging about our experience and will share a link after the first post in case anyone is interested in giving it a try. Here's a bit more about the program: http://www.amazon.com/Clean-Revolutionary-Program-Restore-Natural/dp/0061735337/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325606593&sr=8-1

Chelsea, I dont mean to be all TMI-ish, but be careful with those cleanses. DH and I tried them and Monica can tell ya, its pretty funny watching someone try Zumba-ing after day 2 of the cleanse. I was running to the bathroom every 20-30 min at work and during Zumba eventually had to sit down to keep from "oops-ing". Gross. I know it doesnt happen to everyone, but if you don't know....just be prepared.

  • Eek, thanks for the warning! I'm not too concerned about awful side effects because this isn't an extreme cleanse that only involves juices or shakes. I can eat solid food. Plus, I ate relatively well leading up to this so I'm hoping my body isn't in for a huge shock.

  • Oh ok, see we did a cleanse that involved a pill and I think DH had a powder he added to drinks or something. Yup, it cleansed all right. Haha

  • Let me know how that goes, Chelsea. Sounds better than the "lemonade diet" I've tried a couple times....never made it longer than a day or two. Lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper....yumUndecided

I had a lot of success on Weight Watchers a few years ago so I started that back up but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been a huge cheater. If fitting into my wedding dress (and a bikini for the honeymoon) isn't a good enough reason, what is??? So frustrated with myself!

  • I seriously need motivation too.  I feel like I eat ok, not a true diet, but not french fries every day.  I just can't get myself to exercise.  Today was a 10 hour work shift for me, and I'm wiped out when I get home.  I hope my wedding pushes me soon, because I need to get myself to tone up :(  Arms and tummy need to lose a little weight!

  • I started a good diet and exercise routine almost exactly 3 months before my wedding.  It's the first diet and routine that I've ever stuck with.  I knew I couldn't handle an ongoing thing for months and months, but I was able to do 3.  I was able to lose weight and become toned.  It definitely took a lot of time, energy and disipline though.  Good luck, ladies!  You can do it!
