"Everything Happens for a Reason"

Typically i live by that statement. Ive even thought about getting it tattooed on me. Well, Im seconds from punching the next person who says it.

After almost a month of waiting I got an email this morning saying I didnt get that job I interviewed for. Im so upset. I need to get out of this job. Everything in me is ready to scream! But I cant leave here until I find something else and Im having one hell of a time finding something else, especially something that keeps me at SU so my tuition is lessened. Im starting to think its not even worth it anymore. Id be better off with a job I enjoy and have another school loan. Everyone else seems to disagree with me. Whatever.

Just needed to vent

I'm sorry the job didn't work out.  That really sucks.

I won't say the dreaded phrase, but hopefully there's a better job around the corner!  How much more school do you have?

3 more dreaded years! Josh and I have discussed me going full time and being done in 2 but I could only work PT and we just cant swing that. I mean we could right now, but with Josh's job there always the fear of lay off or being dropped from rate job to normal pay which would be just as bad as a layoff if I werent working FT. So....Im stuck.

Ive mentioned doing this yr, then finding a job elsewhere for the last 2. That way Im only paying half the time. I guess we'll see.

I typically live by that saying too, and I really believe it! It's not always obvious right away, but it will work out. You just didn't get this job because there's a better one in your future!

I seriously applied to about every restaurant in Liverpool and surrounding areas (I was so desperate I even went to Friendlys!!!) I was a waitress at Lava for a year and a half, so I technically had experience, not to mention that it's really not that difficult of a job! After 4 months with no job I decided to apply to be a sub in a school district, figuring I had no chance in hell of getting hired since I was still in school. They freakin' loved me and hired me right away (and I had heard it was HARD to get in this district!) If I had gotten a waitressing job, I def wouldn't have applied here. So I thank all of the idiots out there who wouldn't hire me to be their hardest working waitress ever , but it was certainly for a reason (district only
    hires at certain times) :)

Stick it out and good things will happen!

That is a long time.  Just keep thinking about it, I guess and looking around in the meantime.  And it's good that Josh is on board with whatever makes the most sense.

    Thanks ladies.

Im trying to tell myself something better is around the corner but Ive applied for a few jobs now and had 2 I really wanted and was interviewed then denied for both. It wouldnt be so hard to swallow if it was just a job that got me out of this one. I actually REALLY wanted to be in those positions.

Ive debated over school districts and actually went in to apply once, but then they handed me a form for being fingerprinted and said I had to pay the $100 fee. Well, I was in no place to spend that kind of money on a job I wasnt certain Id get, so I decided against it. That and when I went in to apply I decided to stop first to see a teacher I had and loved and on the way to her room some freshman came up, put his arm around me and "Hey mami"ed me. So I was a little put off b/c I look like Im 16 and could be a fellow student.

But I really want to work with students and in a school setting after getting my degree, so maybe its time to look again.

Haha. I've walked in and had boys be like "daaaaamn" and other stupid comments I'm not supposed to hear. I don't go to the high school anymore. Teachers also thought I was a student, and I was afraid I was gonna get my a$$ kicked by some big girls one time!

And I didn't have to get fingerprinted until AFTER I got hired. Maybe it depends on the district.
