Non religious wedding officiant?

I did a little searching though old threads but I'm not seeing much.

I'm looking for a non religious wedding officiant in the area.  I've only come across one person so far that I may consider... but I know he is a religious man and this kinda makes me unconformable.

Any suggestions?

May be willing to ask a friend to do it... just not sure who!

I'm in Ithaca, so that might be a little far for you.  And I don't actually have a good suggestion either, so I'm not helpful.  Finding an officiant was one of our harder tasks actually.  (We have a minister.)

But we do have a bunch of Syracuse ladies on here, so hopefully one of them will have a suggestion!

My FI mother is a pastor out of Rome. I know she is willing to travel and will work to make the ceremony what you want.  If you want her info PM me.

I would contact CelebrantUSA.com; they have a wide variety of civil celebrants all over the country. I"m sorry I'm so far away from you (north Jersey....)

I was just looking online to figure out marriage license stuff and I found this website for Ithaca that has local judges, officiants, etc: http://www.ci.ithaca.ny.us/departments/clerk/marriage.cfm

Again, Ithaca might be too far for you, but if you do some googling for marriage licenses in Syracuse, you might find a similar page.

Have a friend get ordained online. My parent's 85 year old neighbor did that, and then performed his grand daughter's wedding.
