Ours is $1200 for 6 hours of music, 2 DJs and lots of uplighting (full uplighting package)
We are using Ken Paradise.  My wedding isn't until May and I will post a full review after that, but he has been great to work with so far, his website is very user friendly... we are very happy with our decision- esp for the price!

We are booking with Whirling Disc Dj. It's only $595 for four hours, and that includes lighting. =)

Correction (just checked my contract) we are paying $1100.  Still up there, I know, but I think he will be worth it!
    Good luck with your search

By brother is going through black tie entertainment and for 600 i believe he's getting 6 hours ( had to negotiate that though), tons of uplighting, back up equipment, and his choice of a fog or bubble machine for the dance floor if he wants them. I however am going through at your request and for 300 were getting 4 hours and back up equipment and dj. Were getting uplighting through our reception venue so no uplighting in the cost of the dj, and were using an uncles Irish band for our ceremony instead of the dj. :)

My task this month is choosing a DJ.  Here's the prices I was told (I plan on trying to negotiate -- but first I have to pick which DJ).

At Your Request - $550 for 4 hours, $100 for each additional hour.  Includes lighting, cordless mic, setup/teardown. This is a "one man show"

Black Tie Entertainment - $895 for 4 hours, $125 for each additional hour.  Includes lighting, wireless mics, free extra sound system (for cocktail hour or ceremony if at different location), party props if interested (leis, sunglasses, beads, hats), and choice of confetti/streamer canon, fog or bubble machine if interested. This is a company with many DJs

Visa Versa - $850 for 4 hours, $100 for each additional hour.  Includes lights and wireless mic.  (Haven't officially met with them yet -- will be next week so not sure if that includes anything else).  They have 2 DJs to choose from

The Great Music Company - $850 for 4 hours.  Didn't see anything posted about cost for additional hours.  $275 fee for multiple locations.  Have yet to meet with them too, but they seem for a little bit of an older crowd so I might cancel my meeting.  I believe there are 2 DJs, husband and wife, that work together

I'm also going to be meeting with Ormond Entertainment (2 DJs - man and woman who come to the events), who I'm told is probably on the higher end.  I'm meeting with them tonight.  I'm also meeting with Mike Fredricks next week, who is a radio host and does DJing on the side.  He was suggested by a friend.

I can update after my meetings (in the next two weeks) if you're interested.

I met with Ormond Entertainmen.  After an hour and a half of how amazing she will make our wedding she told us the price would be 2000 for 5.5 hours.  Way over my budget.  They seem to know what they are doing though. I am currently still looking for a DJ.  We talked to 'storm" entertainment and they said they would charge us 700 for all day and lightning.  Anyone heard or worked with them?  They are based out of Geneva.  Seems like they dont do alot of weddings.

We interviewed many of the DJs above and found them all mostly boring, same idea's and same old wedding styles, promises and they could do anything...we went with Kevin Colangelo who came to our home, and spent 2 hours with us showing us idea's to make our wedding different from the rest and I can tell you I have NEVER experienced such amazing ideas and a fresh outlook on weddings!
We were AMAZED at the unique idea's he gave us, from even the escort cards to the cake, and explained and demonstrated many of the old tired formality's in a fresh new style!
Even the bouquet and garter toss is different and not the same old boring way we have seen it many times.
I know from weddings we have attended how important the DJ and you get what you pay for!
I also know from hours of research that paying $500 or $700 bucks for a wedding DJ in 2011 or 2012 is going to get you a lame duck, tired and uninteresting DJ with the same old nonsense, chicken dance, and those stupid blow up guitars and silly YMCA hats...not at MY wedding thank you!
Also he offers up lighting at no additional cost where other DJs all charge extra for it!
    Sweet!
We are also booking the photo booth from Kevin as he owns one of those too at a great price!
We are paying around $1200-1500 and I can tell you I could not be more pleased!
    His personal website is
    www.djkevincolangelo.com

And he has a great British accent which is a huge bonus!!!!!

    Thanks Ladies!

What Id like to know is who YOU are Patty. No wedding date, no FI. You have no reason to be here. Ive read your other posts. Stop trash talking the girls here.
