I'm from the syracuse area. Any of you ladies around here book a photographer yet? We are looking for someone affordable and I don't know where to start!

I booked K photos for my wedding. She is very reasonably priced and is from the Utica area but travels. My wedding is in Syracuse. She usually has specials going on each month also. Her pictures look very nice on her website!

Welcome to the board!  I booked Jeffrey Foote based out of Trumansburg.  I bet he would travel to Syracuse.  Not sure if he's "affordable" or not, but I think the rates are listed on his website.

I am using Picture Infiinity Studios. I don't know what typical prices are for photographers in the area, especially since I do know that their prices have gone up since I booked them. I used to work with the owner and she used me to practice on when she was first starting, so I trust her and feel comfortable with her, which made the price less important

Hi! My name is Caitlin and my fiance's name is James. Our wedding is September 1st next year. We haven't booked a venue yet but we are 99% sure we are going to have our wedding at Highland Forest, at the Skyline Lodge. Our wedding colors are baby blue and dark purple (plum). We're having a music-themed wedding sort of, with lots of vinyl records and similar things for decoration!

Thanks for the intro!!!  I booked Tess Moran- absolutely loved her- but she is out of Buffalo.  She is definitely willing to travel.  If interested, I have tons of pics in my bio and her website is www.tessmoran.com... she was my favorite vendor and I am so in love with her style of photography.  I am doing a Rock the Dress and Boudoir shoot with her in the fall.

What price range are you looking for?  One photog or 2?  How many hours or full day?  Copyright to proofs or photog keeps copyright?

For example, we had 2 photogs, all day (I did not want a set # hour time limit) and we retained the copyright to all photos.  We had a pretty good distance between ceremony and reception (90 minutes) and we paid $1800.  We also had an engagement shoot included which was a lot of fun and helped us get to know our photographer... definitelly recommend it!!!

I have seen packages as low as $800ish, but you may only get one photog for 4-6 hours and they keep copyright (which means you have to pay for every. single. picture. that you want printed)....

I have also seen packages as high as $4G, but that may include a book, bridal shoot, all sorts of stuff.

It's best to figure out what is really important to you as well as your budget... then narrow it down from there.
