Reception Entrance Song

FI and I have this never-ending debate about what song we are going to walk into our reception to. I know, this is like the LEAST important thing on the "to-do" list, but it's so important to FI. We both really want it to be a fun, upbeat song that (almost) everyone knows. We keep bouncing ideas off each other, and we just cannot come up with anything!

What song did you or are you thinking about walking into your reception to?
First comes Love (2.23.2006)
Then comes Marriage (6.23.2012)
Then comes Baby #1 (5.10.2013)
And Baby #2 (EDD 6.15.2014)
In the baby carriage!

I wanted to pick the perfect song since it really kicks the whole reception off.

We're going with Dancing in September because it's fun and upbeat, all age groups are familiar with it, and we're getting married in September.

FI wants to do Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping Up to Boston".  I love the Irish music, and anyone who has watched The Departed knows the song.  I'm just concerned that the actual lyrics aren't very wedding friendly haha, so I'm not sure we'll use this song yet.  It would be fun to jump around to though, and we can wind down with another song for our first dance.

Oh I LOVE "Dancin in September"!!  I would definitely have done it if we were getting married in September... I almost did it anyways!

We ended up doing "Now that we found love" by Heavy D and the boys... it's that one that goes "Now that we found love what are we going to do with it?"  All our guests loved it!  The photos of eveyone entering shows them all laughing histerically because the guests were just going nuts.  It was fun.  Laughing

Ooo, now I might have to consider "Now that we found love"!  I keep thinking about Hitch, and how much fun they had in the movie.  Kinda sad that Heavy D just passed away :(

I immediately thought of Hitch too! LOVE that movie!

I might steal that song! it is so fun and I'm pretty sure everyone will know it too! Mentioning it to FI when he gets home from work! (Our wedding isn't until June, yet this is a pressing issue ;)

We did Black Eyed Peas "Tonight's gonna be a good night"... it was between that and the "Dynomite" song that was pretty popular over the summer.  I kind of wish we would have gone with something a little more unique... but they were perfect for the occasion and a ton of fun.

You could do the instrumental version of this song.
For our bridal party we had 'Bulls on Parade' by Rage Against the Machine the instrumental version. Our Wedding Party loved it. We kept them surprised until the last minute. We came into Prince's 'When Doves Cry'. The beginning is just perfect. You might not even hear the whole song when entering, so it doesn't matter what the lyrics are!

We're going to use this song from Juno either in the ceremony or reception
    Clicky

It's "All I Want is You" by Barry Lousie Parker
The song is really quirky, but the lyrics are perfect!

All I want is you, will you be my bride?/ take me by the hand and stand by my side/
All I want is you, will you stay with me?/ hold me in your arms and sway like the sea
