Newbie... and a few questions, please!

Hi everyone!!!

My name is Maggie, my better half is Andrew! We are getting married August 24, 2012!
Our colors are orange and gray. Andrew is a HUGE SU basketball fan! We are getting married at the Doubletree Hotel in East Syracuse. Our ceremony is at Most Holy Rosary on the Westside of Syracuse.

Now that we have those few things settled, we are working on hiring a photographer! Yikes!! I feel like instead of law school, I should have went and become a photographer! They seem to cost a lot! Any good recommendations?
Has anyone used a photobooth in the Syracuse area?
DJ?

I seem to be concentrating on our cookie bar and candy bar more than the bigger items....

Welcome to the board and thanks for the intro! My husband and I are diehard SU Bball fans as well! Our original colors were Orange and Blue, but we ended up changing then to Orange and Green.

My photographer was Melissa Kolb. She was at my house at 9a and was done around 5p (when my reception ended). She cost me $1600, then I added a 2nd photographer (her husband) for $275. So I ended up paying $1875. I loved her! She was so great to work with and had such a great eye. If you check out my facebook "Bridgett Donnelly" you can click on my photos and her pics are available for everyone to see. She was the cheapest I found without going to a student photographer and she was great.

My DJ was Whirling Disc. They were amazing to work with before the wedding. Willing to bend over backward to help you with anything and answer all your (my) stupid little questions. I wasnt totally crazy about the order of the songs they played. I kinda felt like they clumped genres and styles too much...but thats just me. Other than that I cant offer much. Our wedding was on the first sunny day in 2 weeks so most people were outside...DJ couldnt do much.

Chek the Post It Note at the top of the list of threads regarding vendor reviews. Some of girls have written some nice stuff. Of course people will definitely answer you here as well.

My DJ is based just outside Syracuse -- Michael Erb. He was super-nice in person and seems to really know his stuff. Will post a review after my wedding in Sept.
