Hi everyone!!

With my wedding a little over a year away, I started to check out boards and found this CNY board!  I browsed a few posts here, and just want to introduce myself. I'd love to be apart of this board!

My name is Kim, and my fiance is Patrick.  We've been dating over 6 years, engaged since 12/18/10, and are getting married on 6/16/12 at Ventosa Vineyards in Geneva NY.  We currently live in MA, but both of us grew up in upstate NY and met during college at RIT.

Even though we've got a little over a year to go, I feel like I have SO MUCH done already!  This is partially my mom's fault, she's been pushing me to reserve reserve reserve lol.  We've got Ventosa booked, which I'm absolutely thrilled about.  The view of Seneca Lake is gorgeous!  I have my photographer, pastor, tent, limo/shuttle, hotel, harpist, and DJ booked.  I also purchased my beautiful Essense of Australia dress, which should arrive in October.

It's great to see all your posts, I'll comment on them too when I'm on here.  Feel free to ask me questions.  It's so much fun to plan a wedding, and great to hear input from others!

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement!! Thanks so much for doing sucha great intro post.  I swear it can be like pulling teeth around here to get someone to do one.... lol.

It sounds like you really do have a lot taken care of already... good for you!  Ventosa is a beautiful venue (it was one of my top 3).  We look forward to hearing mroe from you!

Monica, I see you just got married at Glenora, congrats!!!  Glenora is beautiful, but with our guests coming from Rochester and Syracuse, we thought Ventosa was a more convienent location.  Love your pictures, especially the wine barrel

Welcome and congrats!! I know you have a lot of your stuff booked, but I live in Geneva and run the visitor's center at the Chamber of Commerce here, so if you need any info or suggestions, I'd be happy to help.

Please please write your notes, reviews, etc about your vendors on the board!!  It will help future brides when they are looking to book vendors for their wedding.

Thats great how much you have done, as you get closer you'll seriously appreciate it. I waited till the last minute on EVERYTHING! That includes the Thank You notes I havent written yet and Sat will be 1 month since...slacker.

But anyways, feel free to write anything and everything you want. Were a pretty friendly group of girls and everyone appreciates the feedback!

Hi Everyone!
I  would also like to introduce myself as I am new to these boards. My name is Kara and my fiance's name is Jay. We are also getting married at Ventosa Vineyards (seems to be a popular choice on here!). Our wedding is on on August 18th, 2012. 
Jay and I met in college at SUNY Binghamton and we have been together since February 2006. Jay proposed this past February on our 5 year anniversary. :-)
Kim thats awesome that you have gotten so much done! My mom has also been nagging me to get going on reserving everything, but things have been quite busy lately at work, we're going on vacation next week, and we are moving the week we get back from vacation! Due to all that craziness... wedding planning has been put on the backburner lately. :-/ I have booked Ventosa, a DJ, and a hair & makeup crew to come to the hotel.  It would be so great to hear about what Vendors other brides in the area have chosen. 
Jay and I currently live in Ithaca, but we have been here for less than 2 years so we don't know a lot about the vendors in the area. Jay is from Long Island and I am from the Buffalo area so I have found myself looking at vendors in the Buffalo area willing to travel to Geneva since I know a little more about them, but it would great to find out some information on recommended local vendors! My next big task is a photographer,  so I would greatly appreciate any recommendations that you all have! :-)

Hi Kara!  Welcome!  I currently live in Ithaca too (moved here last August).  I'm using mainly Ithaca vendors, so let me know if I can help with anything (not sure about traveling to Geneva though).

Hi Kara, welcome to the board! I dont know much about the area that youre at, but I believe Monicas wedding was near by (right Monica?) In which case, check out her "Mrs" blog. Shes got awesome reviews of people she used.

Yes, as Bridgett said, mine was nearby (Glenora) and I booked a few vendors from the Geneva area.

Congrats on the venue... it's gorgeous and was in my top 3.
