How much for DJ

We have 5hrs booked.  Total Cost is $700  I want to add another hour to reception but feel like I am already paying and arm and a leg for DJ and I am not happy with them right now.  What is everyone else paying if you dont mind sharing.  I would like to see what other people r paying so I can nogotiate on the last hour if I need to.

    595. we have unlimited time, however, I think he has adjusted that to 4 hours max for new clients.

Who are you using and why are you not happy with them?  did you sign a contract? What does it say about additional hours? It's ALWAYS ok to try and negotiate!I specifically booked with a DJ who offered unlimited time knowing that that was a priority since we want him to do our ceremony & reception. I also booked this DJ when before he raised his prices for the new year (and rightly so since he gets such rave reviews and has been so stress-free to work with so far) so I feel it's unfair to brag ;-)

Ours is $795 for 5 hours. Normally he does 4 hours, but he threw in the extra for nothing. I have heard prices in big ranges, and we found some cheaper, but I went with one that was highly recommended from someone I trust. A bad DJ could ruin your wedding, so if you aren't comfortable, be careful. Not trying to scare you, just passing along some advice I got.

Our total was $900 for unlimited time, but we got a F&F discount.  It normally would have been $1100.

$200 for 4 hours and he did a wonderful job!  I think he has raised his prices but it is now 250 at most.  www.djvictim.com, don't let the costume scare you, it's just his club persona at a wedding he shows up appropriately in a suit in tie.

Thanks all !I am confident that they will do a good job at the wedding, but its just the planning involved ahead of time that I am not happy with them about. They were suppose to get down to the phoenix to figure out how they need to set up for the cocktail hour and never have. Then every time I call her she is sooo busy she never seems to have time.  Owell I guess I will just stay put and next week when we meet I can hoopefully iron everything out.
