I didn't do as much as I wanted to and now I'm a tiny bit behind on my To-Do list.  But on a good note, this is because FI is back in town, as are my friends so now I have a social life again.  :-)

    1. Did some more spray painting on the picture frames for my table numbers.  Still not done because I need more frames and the Dollar Tree ran out of them.  And I haven't put the whole package together yet. I kind of hate that I made this into a big project instead of an easy one.  Oh well.

    2. Developed must-play list and special songs list for the DJ.

    3. Sent off extensive information form to venue.

    4. Bought most of the nice photo frames I need for family pictures.

Is that it, really??  I feel like I'm doing stuff all the time that doesn't amount to much.  I also had my bachelorette party so that was awesome!

Where did you guys go for your bachelorette party? I can't decide if I should have mine down here in the city or closer to home in Rochester.

    - Booked a 33-person limo bus for guest transportation between a couple hotels and our venue
    - Booked our florist (Bouquets by Bonnie - she came in $600 under what I budgeted and is one of the nicest, most fun vendors I've met)
    - Set up an appointment to chat with a potential officiant tomorrow evening

We went to the Awesome 80s Prom.  It was really fun and there were a bunch of bach parties!  It's at Webster Hall, so they give you free tickets for the club afterwards, but we went to a nice, dance-y bar in Alphabet City instead.

Finally got around to uploading about 1/2 of the pics I wanted to FB.  Then something funky happened with my uploader and it decided to only do one at a time.  efff that.  So... I am just going to have to leave it 1/2 done for a while.

I got a handful of enlargements back.  LOVE them!  Now I just have to find some frames that I want to put them in (I love shopping, so this should only take a few days).... THEN I have to make DH actually hang them up (this could take years, lol)... I am just not good at that kind of stuff.

Also, booked my TTD and b-pics are booked for next Wednesday!!!  Super duper excited!  Now to pick out my outfits.  Wink

I did a wine tour around Seneca Lake on a party bus.  It was the best.party.ever.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-tongue-out.gif" border="0" alt="Tongue out" title="Tongue out" />  I'm kind of biased though.

If I decide to do it up that way, a wine tour is definitely on the top of the list! Did the party continue after the tour?

Good morning all! I want to take this opportunity to apologize in advance for quietness on my behalf; law school is monopolizing a LOT of my time. Thankfully I'm done at 10:30 on Wednesdays, so I can park myself at a desk and get work done... and also hop on TK every once in a while :)

We haven't done much more other than decide that by the first week of October, we will for SURE set our date. Right now it's May 25th 2014, and we're considering moving to May 25th 2013 as I mentioned before (at least I think I did) so by that time, it will be set in stone and no more discussions about it. I feel optimistic, because FI did say he feels like it's gonna end up being 2013. YAYYY.

I also had to give FI a few lessons on etiquette in the last couple days. Things he thinks are okay:
    - Telling people on Facebook who ask if they're gonna be invited "lol im sure you will" or "lol of course" because he thinks it makes them feel good to think they're going to be invited. I tried to explain to him that 1) It's gonna make them feel like crap when they DON'T get the invite, and 2) It might make them think that, since he gave an informal invite, they can just show up as long as they figure out when and where. Part of me wants to interject on these Facebook convos, and say something like "Now now Lucas, you can't be pre-inviting everyone before we even start making the guest list! Tight budget, remember hun :)?" kind of light-hearted, not too bridezilla-ish? Or is it not my place/too early in the process/all of the above to do that?
    - Inviting friends/frat brothers to the bachelor party and not the wedding. In fact, he thinks that's what the b-party is for! "Well the ones who know they're invited already know, and for those that aren't, that's why I'll invite them to the b-party." *head desk* I tried to explain to him that anyone invited to pre-wedding parties must be invited to the wedding, because to do otherwise says "Hey, I want you to drop airfare and hotel money and plan on buying me shots all night in Vegas for my bachelor party but not actually celebrate my wedding with me. Cheers!" Like they aren't important friends to witness and celebrate the entire freaking reason he's having a bachelor party in the first place. I also tried to remind him that everyone gets more.... loveable when they drink, and I can totally see this conversation happening: "Dude... I love you bro... you BETTER be at my wedding! Yeah I'll have Lorna give you the information just show up!" This is so NOT happening.

Fi has also mentioned lately wanting to consider having the wedding in/near Philadelphia (I'm sorry, what?). He seems to have this idea that he would like to move there and settle down there which, honestly, I don't have much of a problem with and I would love to see if Philly has any great venues to offer. I just worry about the consequences for our family members, particularly my dad who lives in a nursing home and requires a littttle bit of care with things. But, we'll see where it all goes. Happy Wednesday!

Not really.  We started at 9am and by the time we got back to my house at 730/8, everyone was pretty... umm... well... sloppy drunk.

It was absolutely hilarious.  We drank mimosas and champagne and snacked the whole way from my house to the wineries, drank bottles in between each stop and drank and danced the whole way home.  We actually held it on a Sunday (cheaper limos, better timing for everyone), so most everyone was happy to go home and pass out.   I can't imagine being able to continue partying after.  Maybe when I was 21, but I just can't party like I used to.  lol

Lorna-  I totally feel for you.  You better reign your fi in quick or his side of the guest list is going to multiply like bunny rabbits.  lol

ETA:  FWIW... boys just don't "get" ettiquette.  If it weren't for us, they would be walking around in loin cloths and beating each other over the head with clubs going "uga ug.  me want you come party"  Tongue out

Before you set a final date, make sure you and fi decide the venue.  It's much easier to find a date to match the venue you like than to try to find a venue to match your date.

    Good luck to you, girl.

This week was fun-- went to NY Bride, found the perfect dress and ordered it!!! Also found the BM's dresses.

Ms. Thought-She-Was-So-Organized (me, of course), completely forgot about getting music for the reception... so FI and I were going through the whole "how do you find a good, non-cheesy DJ". Well, we found one based on a lot of research and reviews. We put the deposit down, emailed the DJ, and haven't heard back from him- its been four days. So now I'm in worry mode-- did we choose the right one? I know its still wedding season and they are super busy, but I'm going to call him today just to be sure.

Oooo, I love that timeline! I was envisioning it starting later and taking place on Saturday, which would leave time to go out afterwards. (And since going out after would entail being surrounded by Jersey Shore wannabes in Downtown Rochester bars, I'd like to avoid that. Not my cup of tea.)

You pretty much have to go early. The wineries are only open from 10 or 11 (at the earliest) to 5 or 6 (at the latest)... so getting a late start is just not an option. We finished up the last winery as they were closing (6pm) and then drove home... but even with the early start, I would say a good solid 8-10 hours of drinking is pretty sufficient. lol

ETA:  I absolutely would not trust myself to be around a bunch of snotty little JS wannabes sober.... throw a few hours of drinking in the mix and it might not end up well.  Yeah... I would defiitely skip that part.  My goal was to keep the drunkeness at a fun level.  If I would have continued, I would have gotten super sloopy and probably puke-y... not how I wanted to end my b-party.  Glad we stopped when we did.  Plus, the hangover the next day really wasn't all that bad (probably because I had about 10 hours to sleep it off).  HTH

I'm a slacker, and accomplished absolutely nothing for my own wedding this week.  I did however buy the shoes for a wedding I'm in on 9/17 and everything I need to bake/decorate their wedding cake as well.

Well we were SUPPOSED to meet with our officiant again last night, but he totally stood us up. Tomorrow I go for my first dress fitting, and it better go well or I am going to scream. This week has been nothing but one problem after another, so hopefully my dress fitting is the one thing that will go smoothly.

I finished writing out my Save the Date envelopes, and as soon as my vistaprint order comes in, I'll mail those out!  I ordered my STD magnets before I found out about these boards, and now I wish I waited to order them.  I've just seen so many other great STDs, I wish I chose a different design.  I ordered business cards from vistaprint with our website on it, and will include those with the magnets.  Anyways, enough ranting lol.

Tonight I'm Skyping with a potential hair and makeup stylist, so I'm pretty excited for that too!

ETA:  Yay my vistaprint order came!  I'm off to the post office to mail my STDs :)

I had my finally dress fitting today.  And Im working on my time of day schedule.  Finished seating chart. Waiting to hear back from RJ still on making a few changes.  Getting kind of annoyed with him since Im getting married in 11 days and I he hasnt responded to me in 3 days.  Trying not to worry.

Update: Heard from RJ last night and he allowed us to remove the 4 people from our guest count! Which he totally didnt have to do.  So that was super awesome of him.

Really well! I'm going to send her the deposit tomorrow. It was a nice talk, I think she'll do a great job with my "classical bride" look. I'm excited for air brush makeup too! I can tell she has a lot of experience, so I'm confident with her.
