Check, check and check

This has been an extremely productive and successful long weekend.

1. I found my dress! (Mine was ordered without that awful bow thing.)

I went to a tiny hole-in-the-wall store in Sodus. The owner was willing to special order 4 dresses from the Jasmine Collection line that she didn't have in stock. Other stores in the area weren't willing to get them in. I didn't end up going with one of those dresses, but I fell in love with this one (and the price!)



2. My fiance visited our venue, Ventosa Vineyards, for the first time, and he loved it! We also ate there and the food was unbelievable. (If you go, get the Pizza Deluxe!!)



3. We had a great engagement session with our photographers. Dave and Melissa from Empire West Photo are not only two of the most talented and creative photographers in the area, they are also so much fun and easygoing.

4. We met with Lori from Club 86 and decided to go with her on the spot. I thought you girls were exaggerating how good the strawberry cake is, but no... it's that good. Plus, her prices absolutely can't be beat.

5. We met with Bonnie from Bouquets by Bonnie and Lisa from Flower Power Decor, and both were great. Lisa has already gotten back to us with an estimate and it's under our budget, which is extremely exciting because I thought she was going to be expensive. We'll be able to make a decision after we hear from Bonnie, so we'll have a florist soon!

And I completely agree about Ventosa food.  Just wait till your food tasting so delicious!

Congrats on all the checks!!!  Love the dress!  Did you speak with RJ?  I'm going to email him tomorrow and see if he's available Labor Day weekend.  I have some days off then and can drive to NY.  Got a list of questions written out lol.

congrats!!! Haha.. so far, I know the owners of your venue, the cake baker, and if you go with Bonnie, your florist (we went with her, and I love her!).. but seriously, aren't Lori's cakes amazing??? I can't WAIT to eat ours!
We ended up ordering the strawberry, plus the chocolate cannoli cream, and I couldn't resist getting the red velvet for our rehearsal..

I'm arranging a silent auction for work and contacted Lori about a donation. She is giving a certificate for a cake, but I'm thinking instead of using for the auction, the staff should get the cake as a bonus

ooh yum! Maybe you can talk her into making an extra? I remember when I was younger eating the cake shavings off cakes Lori was making when I would go over her house.. hehe...

I forgot one! We visited Belhurst to check out the rooms where we could host our rehearsal dinner. I'm not completely sold, but I don't know of other venues in the area.

I didn't. We didn't run into him and I have some time before I need to sit down with him with questions.

I would love to hear his responses to your questions since we probably have similar ones. :)

I visited her after reading about your experience. (She asked how I heard about her, but I couldn't remember your name. PM me or let me know in this thread! I want to give credit where credit is due. ) Our meeting went great. She is so fun and I love her ideas. It will be a very difficult decision to pick between the two florists.
