I saw you used DJ Victim, and I was also looking into using him and then scratched him off my list, but based on your recommendation, I but him back on. How involved was he? Did he keep the crowd going or teach a dance like the cha cha slide if the need arose? What was the music he played like? He just seemed like more of club DJ from his site, and I'm not really into the whole techno thing. TIA! BTW, I looked at your wedding pics and they are gorgeous! You guys look like such a fun couple, glad you had such a beautiful day!

He played the type of music we requested.  We wanted motown oldies to get the night going which was friendly to all age groups and then he worked in pop music and stuff that is current and popular.  He did not play any music that we did not request.  So if you only want a certain kind of music he will only play that.  He did however continue to play the kind of songs that people were dancing to.  He does not teach line dances and stuff like that.  We didn't want any line dances but he is very upfront that he does not do that sort of stuff.  He does make all the appropriate anouncements and keeps the night going but he doesn't do the cheesy wedding stuff.  We were really happy with how the night ended up going and he was extremely kind to the budget.  I felt he was way better than some of the expensive DJs some of my friends have gotten.  I would definitely suggest having a meeting with him and determine from that if you like him or not.  He does have the club persona part of his business but for weddings he does not bring that personality to the table.  HTH!

Debby, Just thought I'd add my 2 cents, as we used DJ Victim in July for our wedding. Vanessa's right that he won't do line dances, or play the chicken dance, or the YMCA or anything like that. But he played almost the entire list of music we gave him, arranging it as appropriate through the night. He was very professional and kept everything going smoothly. I don't get the impression he does this for money, but rather because he enjoys staying busy, which may be the reason for his crazy low price tag.He can be a little different from other vendors. He requires all your music selections 30 days before the wedding, for example. He won't be kissing up to you for your business (which was weird at first, but we got used to it). We'd hire him again.

I'm also using DJ Victim for our wedding this Saturday. I'll let you know how it goes. At this point, he's been 100% professional and I have no doubts that he will come thru on day-of.

Thanks guys, that was really helpful! Not really into the whole line dance thing, but I know some of my guests like it (younger sisters, and such). I guess they can lead the crowd or whatever! I am much more interested in just keeping people dancing, and I really want someone who can read a crowd. I will definitely talk with him. Thanks again!
