Hair and Makeup in the Finger Lakes?

Hey all - I am getting married at a winery on Seneca Lake in August.  I lived in Geneva when i was a kid but am now planning my wedding from North Carolina and I was wondering if anyone out there had a recommendation for hair and makeup, aside from one 6th grade perm i have never had any experience with stylists in that area.... thanks!

    Which winery???  
    My reception is at Glenora... Sherry (wedding coordinator) gave me a packet with a bunch of vendors she has worked with persnoally and recommends.  I am at work and don't have the packet with me, but I can check later tonight or tomorrow for the hair/makeup rec's she provided.
    I have gone with several of her recommendations already and have been very pleased.  She really knows her stuff, so I would feel very confident in who she suggests for makeup and hair.
    I wish I could use them also, but my ceremony will be in Syracuse... only the reception is at Glenora.
    I will try to get those rec's to you later.  If I don't post them by Sunday, feel free to alert me by post or PM... I am so frazzled this week that I am forgetting everything!!!

    Hi! I grew up in Geneva too, but moved away after high school... we probably know each other hehe.. I still drive back there every few months to havemy hair done (from Rochester), because I haven't found anyone as amazing as her! My hairdresser is awesome and so is the other chick there and I highly recommend them. She has done my hair, as well as the brides and the other bridesmaids for several weddings I've been in and will be doing mine for my wedding in Canandaigua next Sept. I also have a makeup artist who travels from Rochester I can recommend I just can't find her info right now.. but I will look around for it (both are very reasonably priced). Private message me if you'd like the details! I can probably find some pictures of their work too!

    The makeup artist I used is Gina Scammell and she was incredible! She does travel and is worth every penny. Here's her website: www.ginascammell.com and here is my makeup:

    There's little to no market for talented makeup artists in the area, which makes them hard to find. I live in the Canandaigua area and am a freelance makeup artist myself but I do very few weddings in the actual finger lakes area. No one wants to pay $75 in Ontario County...

    Best bet is to get someone from a metro area... Rochester has many talented MUAs. You'll be getting someone driving near an hour to get to Geneva no matter what, so you might as well do your research. I wouldnt go with any salon-provided makeup.
