New York

**Chelsea** (and anyone else on the east coast)

I heard they were evacuating parts of NYC/NJ... not sure how close you are to this hurricane mess, but I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking about you and hope everything is ok.

I grew up in FL (tons of hurricanes) and lived in Miss during Katrina... it can be very scary and living without electricity is a PITA.  I hope all is well with you and you are far far away from the danger zone.

Thoughts and prayers to you and anyone else affected.

Our neighbor's tree just fell into their inground pool :(  A small tree is uprooted on our lawn too.  We'll take pictures later today when the storm finally passes.  Fortunately we still have power and our basement is dry!

ETA: Greeeeat, our tree is in their pool too :(  Not sure what we're responsible for, but we sure don't have $ to pay for removal etc.

I'm glad you guys still have electricity and everyone is safe!  Hopefully the storm passes soon, and no more damage is done!

Thanks for thinking of us! We left Friday evening (would have been forced to leave Saturday). We gathered a bunch of friends from college and had a hurricane party last night. Thankfully, everyone is safe. Unfortunately, we've heard from neighbors that many parts of our city are under inches to feet of water, and we don't have electricity. And we might not have it until 9/4. Ugh.

kk- trees in the pool??  That's not good.  Hopefully it will be covered under their homeowners insurance.  Yikes

chelsea- hurricane parties are the best!!  glad you were able to turn it into something fun/positive.  Hopefully the lights come back on much sooner than 9/4.

T&P to both of you.  Good luck and keep us posted!

That's our tree in their pool :(  They're calling the insurance company, and then we'll all go from there.  My other neighbor's tree is the green leaves to the left.  I feel so bad, 2 trees from 2 neighbors into their pool.  At least our houses weren't hit though!
