One of my fellow college students is missing!
At a time when most people are being thankful for friends and family, there are thousands who are not and instead are asking for help to find their family or friend that went missing Friday Nov.19, 2010.
Jenni-Lyn Watson was last seen by her family at 12:30pm on Friday in her home in Syracuse, NY. She was home for Thanksgiving break from Mercyhurst College where she is dance major. Mercyhurst College predominantly draws students from Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania.
The County Sheriff's Department says it is unlike Watson to not be in touch since she came home from college on Thursday. They are looking at her cell phone records to see if they include any unusual activity. Currently, they say, Watson's phone is not turned on and can't be used in the search.
As of Tuesday evening, more than 15,000 people have joined a Facebook group dedicated to finding Watson and fliers are posted through several parts of New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Watson is described as having dark highlighted, blond hair and brown eyes. She's 5'2" tall and weighs about 100 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Onondaga County Sheriff's detectives at 435-3081.
"I hope that Jenni-Lyn is found and returned home to her family," said family neighbor and search organizer Kelly Kinahan. "She is a beautiful young talented girl, a dancer, who is going to college and came home for Thanksgiving."
