address labels

I probably know the answer to this already, but I have to ask because it will save me a lot of time: We got our save the dates yesterday and so this weekend we'll be hopefully sending them out. They are a matte recycled postcard with a picture of my fiance and I when we were little and our siblings around a camp fire- it is pretty cute and not formal- so I was originally thinking we could print address labels and stick them on to save hand crampage and time. Now I am thinking maybe labels are tacky- what is anyones' thought on this? I will def. not be using labels for the invites, but are save the dates a different story?

Thanks in advance for your input!

I had a pretty formal wedding and STILL used address labels for the STDs and invites.  It's a huge time and stress saver.

If you are trying to keep the look a little classier, they do make clear labels (which is what we used) that actually look really nice.

Even though I hand wrote all of our invites, I did use labels for our STDs. Just made life a little easier.

    Use the clear labels.

I also did labels for all my STDs and Invites. With all that I was planning and DIYing, if anyone complained about labels on the invites, they would be beaten down.

I'm planning to use your basic labels for STDs. Probably for invites too. My wedding is going to be formal, but, I could never imagine any of the guests we're inviting even noticing, let alone wasting their breath to comment on, the address labels.

I actually hand wrote all my STD addresses.  I did 5 to 8 a night for a few weeks, wasn't a big deal for me.  STDs are less formal though, you can do whatever you'd like to do (especially with your time line).

That sounds so cute!!  You've known your FI since you were little kids?

I handwrote my STDs as well.  It actually didn't take that long; I sent about 85 of them and took a few evenings to bang them out.  Using a clear label should be okay for STDs too.

Well we only met once as kids- our dads worked together and his family visit mine at our camp in the Adirondacks. Our dads stopped working together and we never saw eachother again until my aunts daughter-in-law insisted on setting me up with one of her employees- turned out to be Dave, and turned out we had some history before we even started!

I', on the far left, he is on the far right!

Thank you so much for all of the input, you ladies really are great!

that is such a cute story!

My finance and I went to pre-school together and have  pictures from that class.  Such a small world, we'd lived 2 blocks apart walking our dogs down the same street for 2 years. His parents went to the neighborhood bar my parents ran when I was little and we'd eaten chicken wings and pretended to play pool together, before we moved and the bar closed.  We have several mutual friends and had been to the same parties but never met (or remembered meeting anyway) until a friend set us up and all the coincidences starting popping up.
