Recommended Caterers & Questions

I know I've seen a few posts on caterers but I am really struggling with this one!  Help!We get to bring in our own caterer to our venue.  We also have a lot of foodies in the family, so food is a big deal!  And we're not from Cincinnati originally so I haven't been to a lot of weddings here...  So, here are my questions:- Who was/is your caterer?- What food are you having?- What was the process like?  Tastings before booking?  Tastings after booking?TIA!Lindsey

I have not had them, but have you called Funky's Catering? A couple of my friends have used them and liked them. They said they were very reasonable for the amount of food you get...and they liked the food. Maybe check them out.

Check out Creations by Melody. We use them for work events and I've been to a few parties they have done. The food is definitely top notch and not average- unique recipes and presentation. They are a husband and wife team and super nice. ph: 513-561-7696em: paulmel1 at aol dot com

Be  Creative Catering! We are having hand-carved roast beef, chicken cordon bleu, four sides, and rolls. We had our tastings afterward, but some of our most trusted vendors work with them all the time and have to eat their food all the time and love them! Although any good caterer will do the tasting before if you request it - if not, run away! They are extremely affordable and easy to work with. They used to work for McHales.

We are using Elite Catering out of Kettering.  I think their pricing is very reasonable and Renee, the girl we worked with (the owner I believe) was super nice.  We are having buffet style with Baked Ziti with meat and Chicken Cordon Blue.  It comes with 3 sides, a salad and bread baskets.  (I think we are paying $12pp) I know our food choices aren't that gourmet, but seriously they tasted AMAZING.  You can also rent linens and china for reasonable prices.  If you just want disposable linens, napkins and china, it is included in your meal price.Renee was also really helpful and offered us tips and ways we could save money.  It didn't feel like she was out to make money.  I really feel like she loves what she does.  She wanted to help us out, even if it meant she might lose a couple dollars.  She has also been very quick with responding to any questions I've had. Here's the website ... http://www.cateringdayton.com/ HTH!  Good luck!

We are using My Personal Gourmet. The food was included in the package that got I got but we were allowed to choose from My personal gourmet, vondahears, and chefs choice. SO maybe try all three. I know when I booked with my venue I got my tasting with my personal gourmet. I was very happy!
