Postage

An FYI for all of you brides planning to send invites in the next few months, if you can, be sure to buy postage before January 22nd. The stamp will be going up from 44 to 45 cents on that day. I mean, the extra 1 cent isn't going to break the bank, but I know that we are sending out 120 invitations, plus a stamp on the reply card envelope (240 stamps...gosh!)...its reallyyy going to add up!

Just thought I would mention it!
First comes Love (2.23.2006)
Then comes Marriage (6.23.2012)
Then comes Baby #1 (5.10.2013)
And Baby #2 (EDD 6.15.2014)
In the baby carriage!

Ugh..... here's the breakdown -- postcards are going up 3 cents... that's what I'm using for my STDs and RSVPs... and I already bought the stamps so now I'll have to stick on 3 more cents at least for the RSVPs... such a pain!  I guess at least this gives me a deadline for my STDs getting mailed... haha

Highlights of the new single-piece First-Class Mail pricing, effective Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, include:

    • Letters (1 oz.) – 1-cent increase to 45 cents
    • Letters additional ounces – unchanged at 20 cents
    • Postcards – 3-cent increase to 32 cents
    • Letters to Canada or Mexico (1 oz.) – 5-cent increase to 85 cents.
    • Letters to other international destinations – 7-cent increase to $1.05

I don't send a ton of mail, but I plan to stock up on the "Forever" stamps before the price goes up.

Thanks for the tip! I had heard they were going up but didn't think it also applied to postcard stamps. Definitely motivated to get them out now. :)
