Advice before I go crazy on FMIL

OK, some of you may have seen earlier the RSVP about the bus, etc. Well, we talked to this guy about bringing his "bus" (pic below) so he can drive the guys up and drive us home after. Also to stock up the fridge since the venue doesn't really have what we drink.

You can't even tell by the pic, but it's really nice .. just as nice as the party buses people get ...

Well, in response to what the guy wrote on the RSVP, FMIL said "I'm bringing my SMALL bus, rum, and dancing shoes!" FI mentioned the other day that she might be bringing her new camper, which is this:

Seriously?? SERIOUSLY????????!!!!!!!!!!! This is a F#$*& wedding, not a family camping trip!!!! She has absolutely NO NEED to bring this!!!!!! I know our reception is taking place in an old barn, but it is NOT a redneck wedding, and will still be somewhat formal and decorated nicely!! I will be SO embarassed if she brings this thing!! Would we be out of line if we tell her not to bring it????? What are my options here??!!

    oh boy...  well...

    1.  drink a glass of wine first

    2.  one very important thing I learned (if you remember the dog saga)... is that fi's family = fi's problem.  It is HIS job to correct the situation.  If you say anything to her about it, you will come off like the bad guy- no matter what.  What you need to do is talk to your hunny about this.  If he is on the same page as you, then he needs to put on his man panties and put his foot down... nicely.  He should not mention your name in any part of the conversation.  Even "we" is toeing the line.  He should be kind, but firm and let her know that HE would really appreciate it if she left her trailer at home.  If she fusses about the other bus, he can explain that the bus will be useful for x, y and z and that you two have asked Uncle so and so to bring it.  Her trailer was not factored into the planning and would really be more hassle than helpful.

Whatever he says, it's his deal.

Trust me on this one... I sucked it up and let Fi do all the fussing about the dogs and... well... my wedding was puppy free!!!  lol

    3.  if all else fails... more wine!

Honestly, your only real option is to let your FI deal with it. Sit down with him and talk to him about it ake sure you 2 are on the same page. Then have him talk to his mom and explain why the one person is bringing his bus and why you 2 would appreciate that she leave hers at home. Is she traveling and needing it? If thats the case, ask her to leave it whever it is she'll be sleeping.

Can't have wine because of this stupid diet! Gotta wait til Saturday! :(

I really don't think she's kidding. She mentioned it the other day, saying that she might sleep in it. I was like WTF? She can't sleep at the venue in a freakin' camper! It's only a 45 min drive! If she does plan on sleeping in it, then she can drop it off at a campground on the way and drive her vehicle to the wedding!

As soon as FI gets home from work I'm going to let him know what his psycho mother is trying to do. He has nooooo problem telling her what the deal is! He already called her and told her to tell her sisters that they can't bring their "little rats" (children) and that unless they're in a relationship he doesn't want them bringing their next baby daddies, and basically that they're white trash.

I swear he is so sweet! Her family just really is clueless and not people you are really proud to introduce to people! :-/

We have one mini bottle of Red Cat left in the fridge. Maybe it wouldn't hurt my diet that much!!

Oh man! Sounds like your marrying my husband! Haha. We had our fair share of BS from his mom and Josh is always right there ready to tell his mom how it is. Good luck!
