Guests renting a lakehouse?

Are any of your wedding guests renting a lakehouse on one of the finger lakes (more specifically Seneca or Cayuga) instead of booking a hotel room? If yes, how did you find it/rent it? Did you use a certain website? Is it crazy expensive?

I'm asking as a guest myself this June, but I'm also planning on renting one or more for the wedding party and close family for my own wedding next year.

My FMIL was thinking of renting one on Cayuga for some of their family; I think she was looking on the Craigslist vacation rentals...not sure what the cost would be, but hotel rooms in Ihaca are pretty expensive, so I'm sure it's not a bad deal comparatively.

We have a few of our guests renting houses/cottages in the Finger Lakes for our wedding.
    One is The Savannah House
    Another is Tall Pines Cottage
and I don't know the third

They found them online... I think maybe vacationrentals.com or something like that.  The house itself is quite pricey ($500-$800 for a weekend), compared to a hotel room, but considering that there will be 3 famliles staying there, it is actually a much better deal once it is all divided up.  Plus they have a kitchen so eating out will not be a necessity... also saving money.

We made this suggestion to our guests months ago and are surprised that ony a handful of the families took advantage of it... although I guess if you don't know the area well, it can be difficult to find one that looks as good in person as it does online.

We are renting two on Seneca Lake for our wedding...they can be a bit pricey, but it's worth it for us, since it'll be a central location for the week..and better than hotels for our wedding party/family since it has a kitchen, etc.  Our hair and makeup girls are coming there the morning of the wedding, too.  We booked one through each of these sites  http://fingerlakespremierproperties.com/  and homeaway.com

I rented a house on Seneca lake thru vacationrentals.com.  Well worth the money.  Im filling it with family and plan on having the reheresal dinner there.  Much cheaper per person compared to hotel.

The Meritage Cottage is on Keuka, so a little far, but it is a beautiful building owned by friends of ours.  Sleeps six.
