Mind if I vent?

Ok....not sure if I am alone on this one, but it's just driving me crazy!!! My sister (the MOH) came over last night to show me the bridal shower invitations (mind you she never wants to help with wedding planning, but has asked for my second opinion on shower stuff more than a dozen times already).  Anyway, the shower invitations look just like my wedding invitations.  I am sooooo annoyed!!!  We sent out simple STD's because we haven't had our pictures done and I wanted the invitations to be special....now the shower invitations just seem to take away from my wedding invitations.   Am I being dramatic??  FI thinks I am!!

    I can sort of understand your annoyance.... but on the flip side I have heard of girls fussing because the shower invites clash with their "wedding scheme"!!   Either way- it's definitely not something worth making a big deal over.  If anything, it will look like the shower and wedding invites were coordinated... which is actually kind of cool.  People pay big bucks to make sure every single piece of paper related to the wedding is all matchy matchy, ya know?   This is not a ship worth sinking on.

    Nothing will "take away" from the wedding or wedding invitations.  The shower invites will probably be long lost in garbage land by the time the wedding invites make it to the mailbox.

    Just remember this (and it sounds harsh, but it's true)... NO ONE will ever care about your wedding as much as you do.  Whether the invites and shower invites match... clash... whatever??  No big deal.  Trust me.... chances are you are the only one who will care.  I think your Fi is right on this one.

    I totally get your frustration but think about it this way...

    Your shower invites go out 1-2 months before the wedding invites and once its over they typically get thrown away. So not many people will have them side by side.

    Plus, having been to 5+ wedding in the past year....I dont remember what any of the shower invites look like. Even by the time I had gotten the wedding invite, the shower invite was out of my memory.

    People are inherently stupid. Weddings make it painfully obvious -- KevinandMonica

    That is annoying!  But yeah, now you can pretend that they were meant to match.  (Most people probably won't notice.)  I can't tell you details about any wedding invitation I've ever gotten except for one that was just really bad.  Much less shower invites...
