bridesmaid tees

I was thinking of making them myself but wasn't sure how long lasting it might be after washing.

Does anyone know of a inexpensive way/place to have them done nicely for bridesmaids of different sizes?
I am going to want  a bride one for myself as well.

 TIA!

Honestly (and sorry if this comes off as snarky)... how long after your wedding do you think your bridesmaids will be sporting their BM shirts??  Usually they are a one and done deal.

If you are going with something else to suit their personalities/taste, then maybe I would worry about wear and tear.... but if you are going to make them <strong>"bridesmaid"</strong> tees or tanks... they will likely end up in the dumpster shortly after.  No offense to you... but that's typically where that sort of stuff ends up.

ETA:  Basically, I wouldn't invest a whole boatload of time and money into something with the word "bridesmaid" on it (t-shirts, hoodies, totes.... etc....).  It's a ncie little extra, but people rarely actually use it after the day has come and gone.  If you go with something w/ their name, initials, fav color, something like that... they may keep it and wear again so I would go for a little higher quality.... but BM stuff?  Naaah

Lol... This is Monica... ignore the dumb name thingie.

I got each of my BM's a really nice tote bag with just their first inital on it.  Bought them from the shop on the Knot when they were on sale.  Got a great deal.

I know that 5 out of 6 of them are in school and are always lugging books around, so I thought this would be a good gift for them.  I got the matching cosmetic bag to go with it and am putting together (thanks to Kara's idea) a "survival kit" for the day of.   I also got each a bracelet with their first inital on it.

I made a hoodie for myself and contemplated on making one for each of the girls, but I  kind of nosed around my girls a bit to see what they thought and the general consensus was "meh... nice but never wear it" then I thought about if someone made one for me.... I would probably wear it on the day of then it would collect dust.

Didn't mean to sound harsh... it just seems that sometimes TK and other wedding industry sites cram so much crap down our throats about all the little "extras"... and girls waste so much money on stuff that gets junked right after.

I received a "bridesmaid" tee shirt from a bride a few years ago as part of my gift.  I have to admit that I'm guilty of tossing it.  Definitely get them something that they will enjoy and appreciate!  It doesn't have to be wedding related at all.

Oh! I just bought my bridesmaids gifts from a company called 31.  They just came in actually.  They're big zipper pouches with their first initial on them.  They can use them for whatever!  I picked a fabric I thought they would have picked for themselves and had the initials put on in either their favorite color or a color that complimented the fabric.

On the wedding party board, their mantra is always
"shop for your BMs as if you were shopping for their b-day or Christmas"
It doesn't have to be wedding related or matchy-matchy... just something they will appreciate and enjoy.  I have to admit, I really lucked out with the tote thing.  I am certain it is something that they will all use (5 for school and the 6th for the gym)... score!  Everything else I am stuffing it with is just extras and I may try to add something different and individual for each one.

The girls on the WP board are full of awesome recs, if you are looking for any.  They really know their stuff!!

    thanks guys!

i admit, i got a bridesmaid tank from my now sister in law last year, i think one of the other bridesmaids yanked it from me after the night before the wedding, so i dont have it anymore but i would probably wear it around the house as a pj, or to work out in.  (it wasn't glittery, just an iron on type of thing)  but i understand what you mean about that.

I will definitely look into other stuff.  I was thinking of doing a bag, with the tee in it (now crossed out)  and flip flops to dance in.  Then also giving them pedicures the night before.
     is that enough?

They are choosing different dresses based on their budget and style (all black) so i was thinking of doing something like earring at least to pull the look together but not sure what to get or from where at would be reasonably priced.

I think those are great ideas!!!
I am giving my girls "dancing shoes" too!!!  Great minds think alike!  I think earrings would be really nice, too.  You can find lots of good stuff online... etsy has tons and tons of stuff for very reasonable prices.
If I can fit it into our budget, the day before (before the rehearsal) I am taking my girls to get pampered.  They will have their choice of a mani, pedi or 30 min massage on me.

A friend of mine who I will be the MOH for let us all choose similar black dresses, and decided to tie everythign together by making us sashes/belts in on of the colors of the wedding (green). It adds a really nice pop of color and makes everythign a little more uniform.

Hey girls!!  I have two bridesmaid tees. I have been in two weddings and have used them for the parties and rehersal dinner. Now my bridesmaids are asking if they can wear them for mine. Love how it goes full circle. I like the idea, and yes I used them a lot and plan on keeping them. I still have a few girlfriends that will be getting married in the next couple years. Happy planning!!
