TY Notes

I was reading somewhere on the boards that the bride should write thank you notes to her family and friends and the groom should write to his.  It said that you cannot sign both names to the note because it's clearly only from one of you.  I'd never heard of this before.  What are your plans for wedding thank you's?

I've written some engagement gift thank you's from both of us.  Oops!  And I feel like there is no way FI will write more than a couple of cards, so then just my name will appear on most of them?  I feel like that's weird.

Im writing all the shower Thank Yous, but told Josh that he is to help me with the wedding TYs. So Ill write my family and friends and he'll write his.

Not sure if thats etiquette, but thats how its gunna be done here...

I think what you're doing is proper etiquette.

As for me, FI just has such bad handwriting (I have to really look carefully to figure it out) and will complain so much that I'd rather just do it myself.  I say this now....ask me later when we really have to write a lot of them and maybe I'll change my tune!

Hmm... didn't realize that's how it is supposed to work.  Oh well....

I write them and sign my name... then Kevin signs his name... like when a mommy writes a father's day card for some kid's daddy then the kid scribbles his 3 year old signature on the bottom.... yep... kind of like that.  lol

I have never heard of splitting the thank yous by fmaily.... Why wouldn't the thank you come from both of you if the gift is for both of you?  Makes no sense to me.  damn e-board strikes again with their nonsense!

I write enough with class and everything, so I refuse to write them all myself. Maybe Josh and I will write our own guests and swap to sign the others. Hm. Its a thought....but no way am I write to all 90 freakin families!

I have heard this etiquette rule but i think its dumb. DH and I split them in half he did his side and i did mine. I wrote all my shower ty's.

I think what you did is what etiquette says you should do; I wasn't trying to say everyone writes separate notes to everyone, just that you split them in half and don't sign both names.

I'm with you, Monica, but now I'm paranoid about breaking "rules."

HAHA! I know! I feel ahead in some regards with my planning, and then I feel SO behind on other things. I can't believe how quickly the time is going too.
