Lucky Clover Productions

So I'm thinking about using them as my photographers on my wedding day:) They sent me an email saying the are available on my date and also their price list. They said if I had any questions to email them but I would like to talk on the phone to discuss a few things before setting up an appointment. Does anyone know their phone number? The one I got online is disconnected? Its not a huge deal, but I would really like to speak with them over the phone. Any information would be helpful. Or if you have used them and have your pictures online I would love to see them:)

They just switched phone carriers.  Their new number is 513-843-5501   You can see my epics by them in my bio!  HTH!

I had a consult with them, but was a little dazzled by the fact that they charge so much for the cd with all the pictures on it. I decided to go with Innovatory Photography, the cd is included. This is his website: www.innovatoryphotography.com. Good luck!

Yeah...I'm not sure what their new pricing looks like.  I booked them before they raised it.

Book them-- you won't be disappointed!!  :)  I have another photographer booked for my wedding, but I have since learned that Lucky Clover's style of photography is EXACTLY what I wanted.  GL!

If I understand their new rates correctly, you only pay for the CD of images if you don't choose to add on a package. If you choose a package, then it is automatically included. But, like a pp, I booked before the new packages. Also, I think Shawty had a typo, as their blog says their new number is 513.843.5001?

You're right - it's 5001.  Der. AND - (I just called to make sure of the right number and talked to Katie) she said that if you do the $850 package (or create your own package), then you have to pay extra for your CD of pictures with rights, but any of the other bigger packages it is included.

HA Shawty! I just called her too, so I could pay my balance, and I asked her the same thing! But, I thought she said that if you do ONLY the $850 package, then you pay ala carte for the CD. BUT if you do the add-ons or create your own, it's included. Am I right, or did I get it wrong too? I guess I only half pay attention to these things since it doesn't affect me!

No - all the packages bigger than $850 it's included. Otherwise you pay for it separately.

Just booked Lucky clover, so happy! Go for it! I looked at innovatory too, and by the time I added on the album and the extra time (I want someone all day) and the engagement session, it came out to about the same. More advantages to Lucky Clover--you get two photogs, not just one, and they touch up all the pics--innovatory doesn't. Which means zit on the big day--disappears from your lucky clover pics, it will still be there if you go with innovatory. It really just comes down to what you are looking for. HTH!

Debby, Why do you say that innovatory doesn't retouch their pics?  Did they tell you that?  Because their website says otherwise....

Sorry, I should clarify. We met with him earlier in the week. Very nice guy, we liked him a lot, just liked Lucky Clover better. Anyway, he does do some retouching, but they are more like enhancements (lightening/darkening/making different colors pop out, etc). He does not retouch every final picture. He said if he does do a retouch, he usually spends less then a minute, per pic, he isn't spending a lot of time fixing stray hairs or taking zits out. His pictures reflect the way things happen that day. We did like all of his work, it was great. And the retouching thing wasn't what we based our decision on, just wanted to add it to the pro/con list because it might be important to some. I don't want it to sound like a negative review in anyway, because his pics are great and he seems like a good guy, just a difference between the two. HTH!

I just booked w Lucky Clover last week and if you add on any of the packages then the cd is included. I would talk to them because they are really willing to work with you. I am stoked about having them for the wedding and my e-pics. And they do retouch all of your pictures where as most photographers (from what I seen or been told on my photographer search) only retouch the ones that you are picking for your album so even when you reprint from the Cd your pics will be retouched. Good luck on your search.

Just an FYI, almost all reputable photographers only give you a fraction of the photographs they take (particularly if they're photojournalists), and will retouch each and every single one of those photographs that they give you.   It's rare that you'll find a good photographer who will give you every shot, and when you do, they generally make it abundantly clear that the vast majority of those pics are "raw" - meaning only the small fraction that they would have chosen to give you are retouched.  This isn't knocking LC, it's just letting you guys know that they aren't doing anything above and beyond what any reputable photographer should be doing for you anyway.  If your photog isn't willing to do that for you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Wow, I guess I walked away from my consult with Innovatory with a different impression. He brings his wife so there are 2 photogs and he shoots as long as you want him to. And like "hrparker" said I don't think he's going to give me untouched photos with a big zit on my face. That would be unprofessional. My deposit was only $350, so it's not that much to lose if I back out. Now I don't know.Any advice?

eek,You booked with them because you liked their work and you obviously "clicked" with them.  If you have concerns, I'd definitely bring them up, but don't let a bunch of strangers on the interwebz convince you out of something you feel is right. In terms of the retouching, if you're really concerned, I'd recommend contacting them directly and asking.  If the answer you get doesn't satisfy you, that's probably your indication to start looking elsewhere.gl  :)

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to worry anyone or start controversy! This is what I got from him about the whole retouching thing: They take a whole bunch of pics. Go through and delete the bad ones, so no, you're not getting every single pic. Then, he goes through and retouches some of the ones on the disc that he will be giving to you--he does not retouch every picture you get, he made that clear. Not to keep going back to the same example, but he did make it a point to say, and he did use this example, which is why I used it, If someone had a big zit on the day the pictures were taken, they will still have it in the pictures. His words, not mine. I double checked with FI to make sure I wasn't giving false info, and we both heard him say that. About the 2 photographers thing--yes, he did say his wife would be there and taking some pictures, but she would mostly be his assistant and that it would mostly be his pictures that went onto the final disc, and while he did most of the pics, she does a lot of the post production work. As far as pricing, the price list he gave me says $750 for 1-8 hours, $950 for over 8. It was my understanding that that price included only the actual picture taking and the disc, nothing else. I apologize if any of this is wrong, going solely off of our meeting with him the other day, he may very well have included something else with someone else's contract, so I can only speak for what happened in our consultation. I want to reiterate that I am in no way trying to persuade anybody to not use them, or to go with Lucky Clover. That is just what felt right for us personally. I was still impressed with his work, and don't think it's a bad decision at all to use them, I was just simply pointing out one more point to consider. Sorry so long and hope that helps at least someone :). And katie091910, I know we kinda hijacked your thread, so sorry for that too! Good luck in your search! My email is dmhelton at gmail dot com, just in case anyone needs it!

Oops. Sorry katie06191. That was kind of inconsiderate of us. Now at least you know that Lucky Clover has a lot of fans :)
