Shuttle service after open bar??

Hey Ladies,

thanks so much for the help finding a church! I have another questions now. We want to try to get a shuttle to take people to and from the hotel and the reception, so that no one feels like they need to drive after the open bar. We were looking for a van or small party bus to go back and forth. It is only a couple of blocks, but it is on a 4 lane highway so we don;t want anyone walking either. We were thinking maybe get one to run every 45 mins or so.

Does anyone know of a vendor in Rochester that would do this or has anyone done this and know about how much it would be?  So far all of my friends who got married in Rochester have only had bad things to say about their limo providers so any reccomendations would be appreciated.

Also how has everyone else handled this situacion?

Thanks!

I know this may sound silly but after getting quotes from different companies my mom suggested that I call a school bus company and they were the most reasonally priced. I will have the school bus that hold 48 adults from 4:30 pm to 4:30 am for $502. The driver will take my guest anywhere in buffalo they want to go. I am using mostly to and from hotel but it will also take my parents back to there house etc. O and my guess to the downtown for the after party. I would reccommend looking into it if the  school bus doesn't bother you. Every other place was going to be in around $1000-$1500 for less time. Good luck!

O one more thing alot of times the hotel might be willing to take your guest, especially if it is not to far! You might want to look into that. My hotel would not because it was farther than 5 miles, hence the bus!

I just went to a wedding (in Rochester) where the shuttle service to and from hotel/reception facility was provided by the hotel. The van driver gave us a really hard time when we wanted to leave the reception, and made us feel guilty when he said the shuttle service is only supposed to provide 2 pick-ups from the reception, and that any more after that would have to be charged to the bride and groom. Turns out none of this was true, but I wouldn't want my guests to hear anything like that at my wedding. Just something to keep in mind! Good luck!

Most of my guests are staying in a Hampton Inn on the east side - for each 5 rooms booked, the hotel is offering a free trip to and from the reception site.

@ Degrea:  Who/what company did you talk to about the school bus??  I did a little bit of online searching and have decided on the school bus too but the website estimated $610 for the day.  Our ceremony site has tons of parking and there is a school in-between where we can park cars as well, but the reception is at a house and we can't have 200 cars on the road.   Can you give me the #? Thanks lady!!
