Hello, new here

Hello, this is my first post here so I thought I would introduce myself. We have been engaged since early December, but just two weeks ago we decided it made more sense to move our wedding date up to this summer. So over the past two weeks we have been running around like crazy (I am still going to school full time) trying to get this all figured out. We hired a wedding planner and she is helping us get it all together. We just decided on our venue and the new wedding date is 7-28-12. So here I am trying to pull together the perfect weddingin less than 5 months! Hope I can do it :P

can't wait to hear more i just got engaged on nov. 21, 2012, and we made all of our big decisions in about 6 weeks. everything else is just falling into place. move quickly, figure out what is most important to you, and you will be just fine!

it is definitely a good decision for you to hire a wedding planner.

We were originally planning on having the wedding on 6/22/13, as soon as the kids got out of school ( I have 2 and he has 2). We decided to move it up based on money reasons. He kept hinting to the fact that he wanted to get married by the end of the year and I really need it to be over the summer due to the pact that im still in school. So we talked about it alot and decided this summer made more sense (and also we are now living together so whats the difference?) to have it this summer, provided we could do it all so soon. So I immediately told him I wanted to hire a WP and he agreed :P So far everything seems to be falling into place it almost doesnt seem real. 

So here's what we've done so far:

The reception venue- We decided on an indoor reception at a golf course. My WP recommended it, it's been newly renovated and they haven't been doing weddings until this year so we are getting a great deal. And they have our date (phew).

Caterer- An outside caterer that is "preferred by the golf course". Their prices are great also alot cheaper than I was expecting. We meet with them this week.

Officiant- FI asked his pastor this Sunday and he said he will do it. We meet with him for lunch next week. 

The dress- I was really worried about this one. I am a widow, hence this is my 2nd wedding. I remembered how long it took to find the perfect dress and get it ordered/arrive. I went to 5 or so bridal salons this past few weeks and was getting discouraged. Long story short, I went somewhere I wasn't planning on shopping at and found "the dress". Off rack! It was my size and hadn't even been tried on yet. I don't have any good pics of it yet.

Florist- I called my aunt this weekend (she has beautiful gardens and holds tea parties/showers and garden tours in her home) to ask her about flowers in July and she offered to do the flowers for my wedding (at cost). Yay!

Wedding Party- FI is having his BF and both of our sons (10&11) stand up. I am having my 2 bff's and FI's daughter stand up. My daughter (2 in June) will be our flower girl.

Colors- I am thinking of a deep purple/eggplant and a peachy/pink for colors. 

Thats it so far! I have spring break next week so we plan on getting alot done hopefully BM dresses, photographer, DJ and ceremony site.

Here is a pic of my dress. I'm having a few modifications done to it. I am having the sash lowered and it will V in the back. Also replacing the bow on the sash, probably with a flower, just haven't found the right one yet. And having part of the modesty panel cut down so some of the back corset will be revealed.

Ah the wonders hiring a WP can do! Lol I'm so jealous you have one! But really that's probably the best thing you could do at 5 months away. Welcome and congrats! Your dress is gorgeous!!
