Makeup Help!

Hi Girls,So my wedding is in less than 2 weeks and I can't decide what to do about my makeup. I don't really want to do it myself. I'd like to have someone come to my house and do it, but since it is so late I'm not sure I'd be able to book someone at this point. Any suggestions? Also, has anyone gone to a Macy's makeup counter or something similar the day of their wedding for makeup? How did that work out? Thanks so much!!!

I posted something similar last week and am not sure if it's still on here.  But lots of people suggested a MAC counter or even going to Sephora for them to do your makeup.  You can make appts and I think it's relatively cheap as long as you buy a product or two.

I've heard great things about Diana Varga, actually have a trial scheduled with her. She sent me before and afters and they were amazing! She's pretty reasonable too, might be worth a try var.diana@hotmail.com

Be careful with Sephora though, don't mention that it's for a wedding or special event, they won't do your make-up if it's for a special occasion.  We were going to go there for a friend's wedding and we went for trial's first and the manager who did our make-up said that they WILL NOT do it.  Some of the ladies there do work freelance on the side though and we did hire the manager to come and do our make-up for the wedding.  HTH

I used to go to Macy's all the time for formals and one of my BM went there for her wedding last year. She just had to buy $50 worth of makeup. They do okay, just be really specific about what you want and don't let them rush you (sometimes they go fast if they have a lot of appointments). I have by far heard the best things about MAC in Kenwood. The only problem might be getting an appointment because they are so awesome.

Ditto pp about Sephora. They do not do special occasion make-up. I always do double duty and schedule my seasonal make-up lesson on a night or time when I have something to do, i.e. e-pics. I needed my new fall make-up (I'm a junkie!) and what a waste to go home and go to bed with a face full of great looking make up.  They sell a product similar to model in a bottle that all of their artists use for freelance work that you can buy and sue after they do your face, too, if you decide to go that route.

I have kept a list of makeup artists since I started with the Knot Boards so here you go. All the names listed below will come to your house and believe all charge $50 for bride and $25 for bm. Jean Folchi's prices are higher so check her website and Brideface. Hey JKahrs, Ask Angie's if her little sister Megan would be interested. She did the makeup for Nick and Bridget's wedding. And me and Angie used to have her do ours before we would go out back in the day, lol.~Jessica

I used crystal at www.makeupbycrystal.webs.com. She came to my house and did a great job on makeup. I know that she worked for mac cosmetics for several years. I think that she was the account executive for Ohio and KY. Anyways, I highly recommend her. She was really nice and her prices were reasonable. The makeup looked great in the pictures! I did fake lashes and it looked fantastic!

I think that crystal has several makeup pictures on her website of brides and bridal parties. She had a portfolio on the website when I was searching...I think her website is www.makeupbycrystal.webs.com -Carmen

Yeah don't say anything to Sephora about it being for your wedding.  I tried to make an appointment to get my engagement picture make-up done and they freaked.  They say that you could have a reaction to their products so that's why they won't do it.  I ended up going to the clinique counter.  The girls there were amazing, I wasn't rushed and she even went to the other counters, Mac, etc. looking for the exact colors I wanted.  They were great, I'm making an appointment with them for my wedding make-up now. Good luck!
