Double Sided Tape

I am a bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding and my dress is sooooo low cut it makes me uncomfortable.  Does anyone have a reccomendation on a brand/ place to buy double stick tape?  Anyone ever use it/ have tips?

Re: Double Sided Tape

  • I didn't end up using it, but I did buy some doub le-sided tape at Victoria's Secret. Wherever your bridesmaid dress is from, maybe a seamstress there could help show you how to use it? Or if you have a place where you normally get alterations done, that person might be able to help too.

  • I've used it before.  Can't remember where I bought it from, it was a while ago.  Place the tape on your skin where you want to be covered.  Make sure you dress sits high enough to cover the tape.  Then, when you hav the dress on, press against the spot where the tape is and hold your hand there for about 30 seconds-a minute.  The heat from your hand will warm up the tape making it more adhesive.  I would also do a trial run with the tape before the wedding to make sure you don't have any type of allergic reaction to the adhesive, if you have sensitive skin.  To take off, use baby oil to relax the adehsive grip.

  • I just bought some last week at Target for the very same reason. It was about $6 and you get a more than enough for several outfits. I wore the tape all day, danced like a fool and everything stayed in place. In Target, it is in the underwear section with the stick-on bras and stuff. Good luck!
  • They're J Crew Dresses, so it's a pain because you can't really go to a bridal shop for alterations!  (Word of advice here, I would not reccomend J Crew for bridesmaids)

I went to the galleria planning on getting it at V-Secret and I stumbled upon it at Lord & Taylor

    Thanks so much!
