Dying your Shoes?

Hey ladies I had a question about dying shoes.  I found my shoes at Payless and they are their old "dyables" brand.  My colors are (from David's bridal) Truffle and Pool Blue.  I was thinking about dying my shoes Pool, but didn't know if David's will dye shoes not bought there. Does anyone know? If they won't do any of you ladies know where I can take them to have them dyed?  ... If I could find the right blue I would just do it myself, but I'm not sure I could find the right color.

Davids won't dye any shoes that aren't bought from David's. However, apparently there is a place in Reading (I used David's) that will match any color swatch that you give them. I'm not sure of the name though.Just a sidenote, I might be semi regretting dying my shoes becuase it is supposed to be really soggy on Saturday and apparently my shoes are not waterproof. Maybe ask about that when dying. I personally thought that I would take my chances, but luck is apparently not on my side as far as weather goes. HTH!

jroflow - have you thought about spraying your shoes with some waterproofing stuff yourself??? Not 100% sure that it would work, but it's worth a try. I doubt it would hurt the color at all. Just a thought.

Hi ladies! Thank you. Yes there is but Davids Bridal said it may change the color of the shoes. I just don't know if I want to take my chances on it. Thank you though! I still might try it anyway.

Payless does carry dyeable shoes and they send them out for dyeing... did they say they wouldn't do it?  I know the Payless at Eastgate Mall has the dyeables, so maybe you could try there. PP is correct, David's will only dye shoes purchased there (and they only charge $3).  Colorful Soles in Reading will dye shoes for $20, but you can take them back after the event and they'll dye them black or brown for free (if you buy the shoes there, it's $6 to dye them).  I bought shoes at Bridal and Formal, and they charged $15 for dyeing, which I thought was a bit much!  But thanks to jarmstrong, I had $10 in Bridal Bucks that covered most of the cost.

Maybe I'll just try it on a white shirt still, just to get an idea of the basic color of the RIT dye... It's the only way I'll find out how close the color is to my blue...If it seems way off then I'll dye them brown or leave them white I guess...

To be honest when I bought them at Payless they were on sale for $$8 and the girl working didn't tell me they will ship them out to dye them.  I was at the Delhi store
