Hello! I need to know why this board is so dead? I'm at the point of planning where I wish I chose a destination wedding instead!!(or just eloped) haha

Gina I have no idea. I'm trying to get it stirred up a bit. Guess we need some MUD or just drama in general to get the ladies talking. I think the majority of people lurk on the national boards or their month boards. Maybe we should start posting something controversial or spicy! I was thinking of arranging a GTG but probably no one will come :(

I for one, always forget about this board because TK for some reason has me listed as Central PA. So I have remember to do the drop down and look for NEPA. I changed my zip code, but TK insists I live in central PA. ;)

Bookmark this URL its for the NEPA board - less the commercials :) That way you will not have to use a drop down from the main boards.http://tinyurl.com/nm258h

I'm starting to think we're falling behind on the planning, and yet I can't imagine what else we should be doing right now... it leaves me feeling stressed, but unable to do anything about it! We're about 9 months out.... what should I be doing??? Also, my budget has me worried everyday... I know I have enough to cover everything, but I have this sinking feeling that we're going to have more guests than we thought originally and the "small" things (invites, diy projects, programs, etc) are going to end up costing more than we've assumed. A small wedding at home sounds beautiful right now : (

meganjane - I used TK checklist as a general guideline to keep me on track. Some of the things seemed too early on the timeline, and others too late, but I found it useful overall.

My dress is purchased, the ceremony/reception sites are booked, dj is booked, and photog is booked. All the bm dresses are ordered and I've spoken to a florist we like. I still have to get on my fi to design the std cards, block out hotel rooms, get a better idea of the ever-changing guest list, figure out transportation, actually book the florist, book hair and make-up, etc. I just don't know when/in what order to do all these things!

Well the first think I would tackle would be your guest list. Get those numbers down then work on the STD design and blocking hotel rooms so you can include that on your STD. Transportation and floral would be my next choices. You have time to do the research and contracting before the new year should have you in good shape.Save hair/makeup trials for a few months out because most brides like them to coincide with dress fittings - so you get a good feel for the whole look.My general rule of thumb was their is no set "timing". Do as much research as you need to make the most educated decision - especially if you want to stay within budget. Anything done early is usually better!
