Thinking about Honeymooning in the Poconos!

Hi, my fiance and I are both from South Louisiana, and neither of us have ever been to the Northeast. We're getting married June 5, 2010, and we're thinking about honeymooning in the Pocono mountains. I'm thinking a cute little B&B, horseback riding, rafting, antiquing, etc would be really romantic. We would also be interested in taking a train (?) to NYC for a day. Do any of ya'll have suggestions for where we should stay/what we should do? Any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!

I live in NYC -- and hands-down the cutest town in the area you're talking about is Jim Thorpe. It looks like a model train layout - totally adorable. Lots to do, see, shop...there's a lot of historic tours, rafting, etc. My husband and I may be going there this summer for a weekend get-away ourselves.

We just got back from Ceaser's in the Pocono's (Pocono Palace) and we had a good time. They do horseback riding, carriage rides, outdoor water sports, they are also right on the lake so you can go fishing. I know they run bus trips to NYC for the day, but I'm not sure about costs. The suites are nice but a little out dated and the food it good. We liked it because it's all inclusive (except alcohol) and it was close to the Crossings Outlets & Mt. Airy Casino. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone! I actually found a really cute B&B in Jim Thorpe, called Angels of the Morning. I'm really looking forward to going now, and my FI will be excited about the haunted jail! Thanks a bunch!
