One Month Left!! Questions for Final Venue Meeting

Where did the time go?!?!?!

So tonight I have the final venue meeting with my venue coordinator and my DOC to go over the layout, timeline, everything and I want to try to make sure that I get everything in now because everyone will all be in one place.  We have most of the details in place but still, I am trying to cover all the bases.  My venue is a hotel and ceremony/reception are in one place if that helps.

What questions do you plan to ask?

Here's what I have so far:

Who will be there on the day-of from the hotel?
Finalize layout of tables, ceremony room, draping, lanterns?
Is early check-in available for bridal suite?
When will I have to pick up all of the stuff after the wedding?
Must coordinate candy buffet...

    Whoa.  I'm not even close to thinking about this yet.

    Your questions are a solid start, I think.  Your DOC should be able to handle everything else, no?

    I plan on arranging with my dj and venue coordinator a time when the dj announces that everyone should find their seats, probably about 10 minutes before the wedding party makes their grand entrance.

    maybe also specify how/where you want your guestbook, escort cards, and favors arranged.

    If you have a card box for monetary gifts, maybe specify when the coordinator should put it in a place for safe keeping (perhaps when dinner begins).

    I can't think of anything else at the moment, my final meeting isn't for 7 weeks!

    K888 - yeah, I know that the DOC has most of it under control and I am probably over-analyzing. My concern is that the venue lady is REALLYYYYY difficult to reach by email.  She won't respond unless I send it with a read receipt and I like to have it in writing because she keeps forgetting what we have discussed. Example:  She sent me an updated cost-estimate and the total went up $4000!!! When I referenced the previous one, she was like,"Oh, yeah! Let's go with the earlier one instead."  Umm, what?!?! I just want to get everyone on the same page when we are all face to face.

    Arunkumar - Thanks for bringing up the thing about the cards and money.  I have added it to my list!

    If you have any DIY things or decorations (programs, bathroom baskets, photodisplays, etc.) figure out where they will go and how they should be set-up. I guess review your timeline with her? I really have no clue - good luck and report back to us, please :)

    Good thinking Bmore.  I am trying to coordinate the timing of the room set-up because my DOC is mostly doing it since there is no florist.  I am definitely going to keep you updated!
