Vendor Reviews 9.5.09 and Photography Proofs

A link to Vendor Reviews is in my siggy. I'm long-winded in my writing so be prepared. I had the best day ever and I wouldn't change a thing! Everything went off without a hitch and my vendors were really awesome. This board, and the Knot, were a major part of my planning process and I'm happy to contribute my reviews and hope they may help someone else in the future. Here's a link to our professional photo proofs in my bio - http://tinyurl.com/y9vk4cj

Everything looked fantastic!  Love the hair and dress!  I'm using Jen and Katie too so it's always nice to see their work!

Gorgeous pictures!  I had wanted to have my wedding at Westwood Presbyterian ever since a friend was married there many years ago.  Such a beautiful sanctuary!  However, they had a conflict with my date unfortunately.  Congrats on everything turning out well!!

Congrats on being married and looking so incredible in your gown. Could you tell me a little about the van you rented? How many people did it seat? How far in advance did you rent it? TIA!

About the van (PIP) - we called Mike Albert about a month before. We originally scheduled it for 2 days but we actually had more time Saturday (wedding day) to go get it so we made it just one day and only called to change it the week of the wedding. They're not open on Sundays and we just had to drop it off, so I wasn't too worried if we got it back within 24 hours or not. It costs $180 a day I think. It's a 15 passenger big white monstrocity. You don't need a special license or anything to drive it. It was especially nice to have after the wedding to haul back all the presents! We've rented stuff from Mike Albert before and they're fairly easy to deal with and the vans are always clean and well maintained. The air conditioning worked well - that was important to me! It worked for us but it definitely doesn't have the same allure as a limo.

Thanks, that's really useful info. I'm so indecisive about some things, including whether to rent a limo or just a big van. That van price sounds awesome compared to how much it would cost for a limo. Did you use the van to get everyone around for taking pictures? Getting people around for pictures is my biggest concern but I'm worried about it taking too long to find parking.

Wow even though I've lived walking distance from that church all my life and still do and went to westwood school I never saw the inside of the church. Very pretty. Where did you get your pictures taken?

IG.muse - That's exactly why I wanted the van. I was worried about people showing up late or getting lost on their way to the picture locations. I had a small WP so we could fit everyone, including both sets of parents, in the van. onlymels - We did our "first look" at the clock tower at the entrance to Mainstrasse in Covington (great location but we did have a homeless guy try to steal H's cell phone and wallet - he set them down on a ledge and the guy walked by and picked them up. 2nd shooter saw it and H ran after him. He shouldn't have set them down in the first place but we didn't really think about where to put his stuff.) Then we went to Mt. Echo Park. I really wanted to use the shelter with the marble columns but there was a wedding being set up there. Oh well... Then we were at the church. It is really pretty inside. That's the church H grew up in and we're close with the pastor and his family (the flower girls are his grand daughters). I'm not in love with the Mt. Echo pictures but I guess it all turned out ok in the end.
