Bridals by Sandra

I have heard mixed reviews about this place, I have an appointment on Saturday and I'm kind of nervous about it.  Any first hand experiences you could share?

I haven't posted on here in forever but thought I'd drop in. I got my dress, veil and my accessories there and I couldn't have been happier. Everyone I can in contact with was awesome and they called me the same day everything came in. Don't be nervous, they are easy to work with.

my mom went there to look at mother of the bride dresses, they refused to help her since she didn't have an appt and told her they could help her when they made an appt. They werent even busy either.

The first consultant I had, Christine, I think, was fantastic.  She took her time with me and walked me through the process since I was by myself.

When I went back to show the dress to my mom, sis, & bm, I had Deb D - she was awful - she was short & snappy and just a bitch.

On the whole, though I've been happy with Sandra's so far - but if you can avoid Deb D, I'd say do it.

Hi! I am a huge Sandra's fan. The most elegant place to go for your gown in the Valley- the Kleinfelds of the Valley-- really. My mom got her dress there- I've purchased all my prom dresses as well and have an appointment now for my gown later this month. I will go no where else. Yes- you always need an appointment but that is so they can ensure first rate service. You can't touch and feel the dresses they bring them to you. A personal friend of mine that is a consultant there said that they encourage you to take a stop at a David's Bridal first or Alfred Angelo to touch their dresses and get acquainted with the different types of fabrics so you know what you're getting when you try on the dresses at Sandras. Good luck!

The only thing I didn't like about them is that they wouldn't let me look at the dresses myself. Everything was in the back and I wasn't allowed to look at the dress, the consultant had to bring them out to me. I wanted a mermaid or trumpet dress and they only had about 3 to show me. They have a fire and water proof safe that they keep your dress in after it comes in so that is pretty cool.

I actually lived in the area and went there for prom dresses, and for my bff's wedding dress shopping., as well as BM dresses.  I've pretty much had good experiences with them.  They handled a large group of BMs well, and most of the consultants are pleasant and are happy to work with you.

You definitely need to make an appointment, it's not a walk in kind of place, especially on the weekends.  I would call ahead.

However, I don't recommend getting your alterations done there.  They are overpriced, by a lot.  My seamstress lives about ten mins from there, and she did a beautiful job (and used to work for Sandra's, as well).  Send me a PM if you would like her info!

I started at Sandra's and had the rudest, most pushy consultant.  She acted like I had to make up my mind within 20 minutes.  She brought me dresses that were the exact opposite of what I said I wanted.  The place felt old and poorly lighted, also.  I would recommend Jon's Bridals by Suzanne on Hamilton--I had a great experience there, and my MOH got her dress there too and has also been happy.

I too have very mixed feelings about Sandras. The consultants I had both times were very good, but there was this other woman, I think a manager, who intruded on one of my appointments and was extremely pushy. She even went as far as to say "You're advertising for our store, so we need to make sure the dress looks good on you." No thank you!!

Bridals by Sandra was the ONLY place withing 5 hours of my home that would special order the only wedding dress I wanted.  They went far out of their way to purchase the dress for me and have been so, so helpful.  I highly recommend them!

I just got my dress at Sandra's and couldn't be happier!  I worked with Shannon, who did a great job listening to me and bringing me items in my price range that looked great! I loved the fact that I got my own dressing room, with space for my mom and sister to sit and the consultant was focused solely on me.  Make an appointment before you go and try and go on a week day/night when they are less busy.  Sandra's provides a lot of extra services that made my mom really happy and confident in the purchase.  I had an excellent experience at Sandra's and would recommend them to any bride-to-be.
