rehersal dinner question

Is it better to tell your bridal party they can bring a guest to the rehersal dinner? or do you not have to?

Somebody else might know a little more then me, but I think you have to invite them with a guest if they are married, engaged, or in a serious relationship only.

So their date is going to sit in the hotel room by themselves and not eat dinner?  If they are bringing a date to the wedding, they should be allowed to bring that date to the rehearsal dinner.

I guess it would depend on your own situation really. None of my bridal party is OOT, nor is my wedding. All of my BM's are married or engaged so they will all be bringing a date to both.

thanks everyone for your input.  That 's what i thought but my future mother in law says why do the guests have to come.

Rehearsal dinners should include those in the wedding party and their S/O's, especially those who live out of town. You can also expand it to include other OOT guests who have traveled to attend the wedding.
