Wedding Cake Help

I have been efficient in planning and am now looking into bakeries for my wedding September 4, 2010. :) My FH is skeptical about home-based bakeries that are not required to meet health/food/safety guidelines. Any experience with that? Also, we are getting married in Dayton. Any recommendations for good bakeries that would deliver to the Dayton area?

I can't comment on the home-based bakeries thing, but it kind of makes sense to be skeptical, I suppose. We got our cake from The Cake Shop in Beavercreek. They were pretty affordable, and make awesome cake. We had a very good experience with them. They delivered our cake to Miamisburg without any problems.

I'm a Dayton bride too!  We haven't ordered our cake yet, but I've heard a lot of great things about the bakery at Dorothy Lane Market.  I've had a few first hand recommendations, and the cakes are supposed to be really tasty but still affordable.  My FI insists he needs to taste as many cakes as possible so I don't know where we'll ending getting ours from, but we hope to get it from the Dayton area. :)  Good luck!

I recommend once upon a time bridal and florist. We are using them for our cake and my best friend just got married and they used her too. The cake was amazing. She works out of her house but is also opening a bridal shop in January
