I have heard of bridal bootcamps before but don't know of any going on around here. Does anyone know? I have one year to get in shape and can only workout in the am. I currenly belong to Urban Active.

There are a few that I looked into, but I ended up hiring a personal trainer which was more up my speed. I checked out Mercy Healthplex (both Anderson and Western Hills have one and you dont have to be a member), UC has one with their recreation facility that looks great but parking and driving arent my thing when it comes to working out. I work out at Fitnext which is on Main Street downtown. Its great. If you want more info I am happy to share. It ended up being more personal for me and I have had great results. email if you have any quesitons. kelklump at gmail

He has a website - http://cincyfitnext.com/index.php to see pricing and such. I love it. I am bull headed, and needed the push. I have lost mad body fat percentage and about 15 pounds. I know my body looks much better because of it. Its on the corner of main and liberty- which might seem odd to some, but its very safe. He has parking on the street right outside, but with the large  amount of business traffic during his hours its great.  He might be moving his studio to the site across from the Kroger building downtown, but he is great. Come try a class  with him and see. You wont regret it.

I just checked out his website and his prices are very very good. I have lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks just changing small things in my diet and walking on each of my 15 minute breaks at work (2 times a day) I think I may check out this place to see if they can help me. I would like to lose 20-30 more lbs before my big day

which urban active do you go to? They do personal training there. I go to the one in West Chester and have heard good things about their trainers.

I just wanted to jump in here about the Urban Active thing. I have been considering joining because there is a location right down the street from me. So I call to find out rates and the guy refused to give me an answer unless I came in and worked out for a week. I got so mad I had FI try to call and get an answer, but he got another run around that rates can be from $39-65 a month (it took 20 mins to get just that). He tried giving a specific situation like 1 year contract, paid monthly, blah blah and they STILL wouldn't give an answer. I have also heard that thier personal trainers can be extremely pushy and badger you about signing up for sessions. There is a thing on the news about how they have cancelled a lot of their classes, which is absurd since a lot of people have paid in adcance and people are locked in a contract. Right now they have a sign out that says $22/month, so again, I really want to join. I was just wondering what your all's experiences are and what your rate is, because I might just grin and bear it. TIA!

I just set up a consultation for Saturday with Cincy Fit Next. I am very excited and the rates are very reasonable.

Regarding UA - I worked in the fitness industry in sales and programs for 5 years. I didnt work there, but they all have the same types of programs. They are a little shady. I belong to UA, but hate going there because I a constantly harassed (yes I will say that because I am that annoyed by it) to workout with a personal trainer. I think they have great classes, but i am not a fan of their personal trainers. I think that many of the smaller personal training centers will do a better job for most women. they tend to work with womens needs and inhibitions more. Good luck!

Thanks for the opinion. I know not everyone always has great things to say about every place, so I just wanted to make sure it wasn't me :)
